14-Year-Old also racing Saturday, July 26th at Anderson Speedway (Special from Chris Hacker Motorsports)
July 24, 2014
Noblesville, Indiana (July 24, 2014) – Chris Hacker, a 14-year-old racecar driver in the
JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, was born with a Brachial Plexus Injury (BPI) and is working to
raise awareness for the United Brachial Plexus Network (UBPN) that provides materials
and information for those impacted by BPI and their families. UBPN hosts a special camp
each year for kids and families to better cope with the injury and Hacker will be appearing
at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Beech Grove, Indiana on Thursday July 24, 2014 from
5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. as part of the mission. He will be available for autographs and
pictures.  A donation box will also be available for those wishing to support the 24 Kids to
Camp campaign and UBPN.

The mission of UBPN is “to inform, support, and unite families and those concerned with
brachial plexus injuries and their prevention worldwide.” Their shared vision includes
increasing awareness and working towards the prevention of brachial plexus injuries, to
provide support for those affected, to educate medical and legal professionals, politicians,
and the general public on brachial plexus injuries, and to create and maintain a network
of information and support to help unite all who are concerned with the injury worldwide.

Hacker was recently interviewed on Indiana’s Fox 59 regarding living with BPI, the 24 Kids to Camp campaign, and his life as a young racecar driver.  Please help us to raise awareness for BPI and the UBPN cause by supporting this campaign. Donations can also be made to any Forum Credit Union branch under the account name of “United Brachial Plexus Donation Fund”, or donations can be mailed to:

Hacker will also be in attendance for the Lucas Oil Circle City 100 on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Lucas Oil Raceway. He working to help raise awareness for the United Brachial Plexus Network (UBPN) organization that supports those with BPI and their families. He will be raising money to help send 24 kids to the UBPN Camp in September as part of his “24 Kids to Camp” campaign. This is a wonderful mission for this young driver and your support to help bring awareness will help this mission.

The mission of the non-profit organization is “to inform, support, and unite families and those concerned with brachial plexus injuries and their prevention worldwide.” Their shared vision includes increasing awareness and working towards the prevention of brachial plexus injuries, to provide support for those affected, to educate medical and legal professionals, politicians, and the general public on brachial plexus injuries, and to create and maintain a network of information and support to help unite all who are concerned with the injury worldwide. BPI affects 5 in every 1000 births, which is more than Down’s syndrome or Muscular Dystrophy—yet information on this disability is not so readily available.

BPIs affect the network of nerves that control the muscles in the shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist, hand and fingers. BPIs can result in full or partial paralysis to one or both (bilateral) arms.  Regardless of causation, it is important that treatment be sought for a BPI as soon as possible from qualified, experienced medical professionals that specialize in treating the condition. The UBPN camp provides information and access to those needs as well as providing encouragement and support for those challenged with a BPI and their families.

Hacker’s “24 Kids to Camp” promotion at Lucas Oil Raceway will include photograph opportunities, autographed Hero Cards, and limited-edition t-shirts that will be available for every level of donation.

Everyone is invited, so come join Chris Hacker at Lucas Oil Raceway on Friday, July 25, 2014 and support the 14-year-old racecar driver as he helps send “24 Kids to Camp”! You will even have the pleasure to enjoy a night of ARCA Series racing, which will include a featured return of NASCAR champion, Kyle Busch.
