JEGS/CRA Rookie Amber Slagle Searching for Marketing Partners
Season slowed by lack of funds despite Top 10 qualifying effort at Angola (Special from Amber Slagle Racing)
July 21, 2014
Waterford, Michigan (July 21, 2014) – Amber Slagle Racing is currently searching for
sponsors to help Amber continue the chase for the Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the
Year Award in the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour.

Amber Slagle, a Waterford, Michigan native, began racing at 7 years old. Winning many
races in quarter midgets, she moved up to full sized racecars in 2010 and won the 2011
Sport Stock Championship at the Owosso Speedway in Ovid, Michigan. The next step in
her racing career included a stop in a Late Model Sportsman. Success came quickly and
included a feature win, in her first appearance at the Springport Motor Speedway. She
also won Rookie of the Year at Dixie Motor Speedway that same year. In 2013, she
backed up her impressive win at the Springport Motor Speedway from one year earlier, by
finishing 4th in the overall point’s standings. She currently competes in the JEGS/CRA
All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance.

Slagle, has competed in 6 of 8 JEGS/CRA events, only missing one points paying event
to date. She posted a career best finish at the historic high-banked (0.555) Salem
Speedway in Salem, Indiana in the running of the John Johns Auto Group 100. She then
traveled to Angola Motorsport Speedway on Saturday, July 5th, ironically her 18th
birthday, and qualified a career best 9th, out qualifying current JEGS/CRA All Stars Points
leader Dan Leeck, as well as, JEGS/CRA stars Josh Nelms, Hunter Baize & Corey Deuser.

Unfortunately, while running around the top 15 most of night, Slagle got caught up in one of the many wrecks during the Powers Automotive 100 Presented by JEGS.com at Angola Motorsport Speedway. Not only did the damage to the #24 MCM Management Chevrolet SS end her night, it has slowed her season dramatically.

“We have had a solid rookie season and I’m bummed we had to missed Berlin. Sadly, I’m not sure that is the end of it. As of right now, we are not going to Anderson Speedway either & although Auto City is only an hour from home, I’m not sure we will be able to race there either,” Slagle said.

The JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour presented by Chevrolet Performance headed to Berlin Raceway in Marne, MI on July 18th as part of the Battle at Berlin 251 weekend in the running the Berlin 100 Presented by Boyne Machine Company & JEGS.com. Amber Slagle & her Amber Slagle Racing team however, did not make the trip west to participate in the event due to lack of funds. Bubba Pollard went on to win the race, followed by ARCA Star Anderson Bowen, Chris Anthony, Andrew Nylaan and Terry VanHaitsma.

The JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour is headed to Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana this Saturday, July 26th. Last season’s JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour event was won by Trent Snyder. The Fastest Quarter Mile in the World will be the host of the Edgewater Woods 100 Presented by JEGS.com. The corners are banked 17 degrees, resulting in 12-second lap times and speeds nearing 100mph on corner entry. Anderson Speedway is home of the famed Redbud 300, as well as, the Little 500. The Little 500 is run the night before the Indianapolis 500 and is considered one of the premier sprint car races.

Amber Slagle & her Amber Slagle Racing team have fielded a #24 Chevrolet SS this season sponsored by MCM Industrial Services, AMSoil, Animal Aid Foundations, Sparks Tune-up, and NEXT Motorsports Marketing.

“I wouldn’t be here without my sponsors, I can’t thank them enough, especially David Mardigian of MCM Industrial Services, he has done so much for me,” said the humbled 18 year old. “With that being said, we need some additional help and I hope we can find some funding to help us complete my chase of the Howie Lettow Rookie of the Year Award.”
