Sophomore competitor in JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour looking to rebound from season opener (Special from Hunter Baize Racing)
May 8, 2014
Bremen, Kentucky (May 8, 2014) – The 2014 regular season has started for Hunter Baize,
the Hunter Baize Racing Team and VanDoorn Racing Development. The first points race
of the 2014 campaign within the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet
Performance was on May 4th at the 3/8s (0.375) mile semi-banked paved oval of
Springport Motor Speedway, located 90 minutes southeast of the VRD race shops in
Springport, Michigan for the Cabin Fever 100 Presented by JEGS.com.

"The guys at VRD had us an extremely fast race car for the entire Cabin Fever 100
weekend. We were second overall on practice day, and in the top 10 in practice on race
day." Stated the Blue Grass State teenager. "We struggled a bit in qualifying, and started
P12." He added. After running in the top 10 for the first quarter of the race, a near terminal
incident relegated Baize to the back of the field.

"We quickly made up for that coming from 12th to sixth in 25 laps, before I had to make
an evasive maneuver to miss a slowing car and was hit from behind. We went through the
infield to save it but were still sent to the back." He added. A second incident on the track
is what put an early end to Baize's day. "We came from the back of the pack to 12th
before cutting a right rear tire and getting into the wall ending our day." Baize continued.

"We obviously weren't pleased with the DNF we brought home as a result, but we're pleased with the speed, and the progress as a team we've made since Speedweeks." He stated. "We'll be ready to go for Lebanon and the Mercy Masters of the Pros 144. Looking forward to the trip to Missouri and hoping we can show everyone how good this team really is." He ended.
