Birch Run, Michigan (May 13, 2014) – Being chosen as a championship contender, some
might say, may add some unwanted pressure to a race team and it’s driver. That was not
the case, however, for Michigan driver Dan Leeck & his Dan Leeck Racing team last
weekend at Springport Motor Speedway. Leeck piloted the #12 Mr. Asphalt Chevrolet SS
to an impressive 2nd place finish at the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour season opener at
Springport Motor Speedway in Springport, Michigan in the “Cabin Fever 100” on Sunday,
May 4, 2014.

Leeck qualified 8th and would start on the outside of the front row after the 9-car inversion.
He never dropped out of the top 3 & led 22 laps throughout the afternoon.

Race Winner, JJ Haley said of Dan, “He is one of the best racers out here, he raced me
hard & clean, it was a lot of fun”. Haley and Leeck swapped the lead all afternoon along
with 2013 Fall Brawl 100 Winner, Dominique Van Wieringen, putting on one of the best
battles you will see for the lead.

“JJ (Haley) had the car to beat most of the weekend, but we were right there. At the end of the race I think my car was a little bit better than his but I just ran out of laps. JJ ran a great race, he earned it,” said the driver of the #12 Chevrolet SS.

The “Cabin Fever 100” at Springport Motor Speedway featured one of the most impressive fields of cars in series history. 32 cars took time in qualifying including former Redbud 300 Winner, Steve Dorer, 2012 Top Speed ICAR Modified Champion Trevor Berry and Outlaw Super Late Model Winner Eric Lee.

Next up for Dan & his Dan Leeck Racing team is a trip to the “Show Me State”; Missouri, for the Mercy Masters of the Pros 144 presented by JEGS.com at the 3/8s (0.375) mile semi-banked paved oval, Lebanon I-44 Speedway, located southwest of St. Louis in Lebanon, Missouri on Saturday May 17, 2014. Last years event saw NASCAR Nationwide Series Driver, Chase Elliot go to victory lane, collecting the $8,000 winners check & the “Green Jacket”, as winner of the Mercy Masters of the Pros 144. The 2nd Annual Mercy Masters of the Pros 144 presented by JEGS.com is drawing some of the biggest names in auto racing including 2-time Daytona 500 Winner, Sterling Marlin from Columbia, Tennessee. NASCAR Star & 1994 NASCAR Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year, Jeff Burton, will serve as the Grand Marshall for the event.
