Hemric, Kenseth, Campbell, Bowen, VanDoorn Top First 24 Entries for the Battle at Berlin 251  
Event will pay out over $100,000 in Purse and Bonuses

Salem, Indiana (July 3, 2014) – Some of the top late model drivers in the country along
with the best of the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS and the Berlin Boyne
Machine Company Super Late Models are among the first 24 entries received to date for
the Battle at Berlin 251 Presented by Primera Plastics, which will take place at Berlin
Raceway located in Marne, Michigan on Saturday, July 19th. The 251 lap event,
sanctioned by the ARCA/CRA Super Series, will pay out over $100,000 in purse and cash
bonuses. The event will pay $10,000 to win, $8000 for second, $6500 for third, down to an
astounding $2000 to start for a 30 car starting field. Berlin Raceway will also pay a $20
lap leader bonus for all 251 laps, totaling an additional $5020 that will be paid out.

North Carolina hot shoe Daniel Hemric has already entered. With his win in the June 14th
Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway, Hemric can guaranteed himself a minimum $10,000
bonus and be in line for the $100,000 bonus with the JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late
Model Triple Crown if he can win the Battle at Berlin 251. The $10,000 bonus is if a driver
can only win two of the events with the Triple Crown, Hemric can win the $100,000 bonus
if he can win both the Battle at Berlin 251 and the Winchester 400.

Hemric will have plenty of competition including local native Brian Campbell who won his
series leading, sixth ARCA/CRA Super Series event at Berlin Raceway on May 31st.
Campbell has two series wins so far this season and is second in series points. By
winning the May 31st race Campbell is the only driver with a shot at claiming the Boyne
Machine $10,000 Michigan Challenge, which will pay a driver a $10,000 cash bonus if
they can win all four Michigan events the series has in 2014.

Ross Kenseth, son of NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Matt Kenseth is entered, he is the
ARCA/CRA Super Series point’s leader heading into Berlin. Kenseth now races for the
Boyne Machine Race Team, with their shop in nearby Jenison, Michigan. Georgia teenager Anderson Bowen is also entered, his crew chief is former Georgia Late Model racer Ricky Turner who led Chase Elliott to many big late model wins. Bowen is currently second in Southern Super Series points and was the winner of the Mercy Master of the Pro’s JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event at Lebanon I-44 Speedway on May 17th.

Several other top CRA drivers are entered including three-time ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Johnny VanDoorn, winner of last year’s Battle at Berlin 251, 2013 series Champion Travis Braden, winner of the 2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event at Berlin, three time JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour winner Chad Finley, along with Rick Turner, Ali Kern, Nick Gullatta, Kyle Jones and Senneker Performance Rookies Paul Shafer Jr., Wes Griffith Jr. and Brandon Watson.

Several of the top Berlin Boyne Machine Company Super Late Models drivers are entered including points leader Andrew Nylaan, two time 2014 winner Ross Meeuwsen, Joe Bush, Brandon Hermiller, also a part-time CRA competitor, Dave Lake, Jon Beach and Terry Van Haitsma. Other Michigan natives and part-time CRA drivers entered include Outlaw Late Model stand-out Phil Bozell, also Jay Niewiek and Lauren Bush.

The Battle at Berlin 251 will be 251 laps counting cautions. The event will be a 10 tire event with live pit stops. Teams can only change a max of two tires per yellow. The qualifying order for the Battle at Berlin 251 will be the reverse order that entries are received for the event, so the sooner teams get their entries in, the later they will qualify.

The Battle at Berlin 251 Presented by Primera Plastics Weekend will begin with an open practice on Thursday, July 17th, pits will open at 11am with practice going from 2 to 6pm. On Friday, July 18th, pits will open at 11:30, there will be three open practice sessions for the Battle at Berlin 251 cars only starting at 1:30pm. Practice for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will begin at 2pm, with qualifying at 5:30pm. Friday night’s race program will begin at 6:30 pm and will include the Berlin 100 Presented by JEGS.com and Boyne Machine Company for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. The Berlin Budweiser Outlaw Late Models and the Top Speed Modifieds will also race in Friday night’s program and there will be a 15 minute practice session for the Battle at Berlin 251 cars.

Pits open on Saturday, July 19th at 12noon, there will be a one hour practice for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Battle at Berlin 251 cars at 3pm, with qualifying for the Battle at Berlin 251 beginning at 5:10pm. There will be an on track autograph session with all the drivers starting at 5:50pm, the race program will begin at 6:30 pm and will include the Battle at Berlin 251 Presented by Primera Plastics plus racing action from the Berlin Sportsman Division.
