Columbus Motor Speedway up Next for Brandon Watson
Tight Rookie battle heats up in Ohio (Special from Brandon Watson Racing)
June 27, 2014
Stayner, Ontario (June 27, 2014) – Brandon Watson will head to Columbus Motor
Speedway this Saturday, June 28th for the JEGS 125 presented by CoughlinCars.com

The third-generation driver eagerly anticipates his second career visit to the 1/3 mile oval,
and is hoping to shake off the disappointment incurred by a late-race DNF at June 14th’s
‘Redbud 300’ at Anderson Speedway.

“It’s always easier to get over a bad outing when you’re concentrating on your next race”,
explains Watson. “We didn’t get the finish we were looking for at Anderson, but we went
back to the shop, got to work and put this Shear Metal Products No. 9 back together.
After all of our hard work, we’re confident we’ll have a car that can contend this weekend”

Watson is quick to note his team will need to be on their toes, in order to dial their set up
in at the mostly unfamiliar Ohio oval.

“I don’t have too many laps at Columbus, so I know we’re giving up a bit of experience
right off the bat”, says Watson. “We’ll just have to log as many laps as we can in
practice, and hope to get a feel for the track. Once we establish a solid base setup, we
can adjust as we see fit”

Despite his recent run of bad luck, Watson remains optimistic and determined and is intent on turning his season around at Columbus.

“We believe that this team is one solid finish away from turning this program around”, explains Watson. “My team has been able to give me awesome cars, and we just haven’t had luck go our way. We’ve had a couple races get away from us. The midway portion of the schedule is coming up, and we’d love nothing more than to hit the second half of the season on a hot streak”

“We’re just going to keep at it, and do what we can to find some speed this weekend”, continues Watson. “We have the drive and the determination. This team just refuses to give up. I can’t thank them enough”
