Veteran Rick Turner Hoping Experience Pays Off At Tricky Berlin Raceway
Road Trip to West Michigan up next for the 'Y-Town Hustler' (Special from Turner Racing)
May 29, 2014
Yorktown, Indiana (May 29, 2014) – There's always a track on the schedule within the
ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS that for one reason or another, gives a team
fits. For the 'Y-Town Hustler', Rick Turner, that track is the 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-
banked paved oval of Berlin Raceway, which is located west of Grand Rapids in Marne,
Michigan. The Berlin 125 Presented by AutoWorldFinancial.com is next on the schedule
and Turner is ready for it.

"That is a tough track to run that's for sure. We always seem to race pretty good there,
but man we really struggle in qualifying." Explained the 55-year-old. "I'm hoping we have
a good car up there and we can start putting some good runs together. It is a fun track
though and we go back there in July so hopefully we can learn something for the 251-lap
show there in July." He added.

Heading into Berlin, Turner sits sixth in the season long points chase, just four points
outside of the top five in the chase for the championship. In three points races, the
Yorktown, Indiana veteran has one top five, which is a seventh place finish at his home
track of Anderson Speedway (IN) site of the following event within the ARCA/CRA Super
Series after Berlin; the Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300 on June 13-14th.

As for Turner's last event, Border Wars II - the Calypso Lemonade 150 featured the ARCA/CRA Super Series going head to head with the ARCA Midwest Tour and was hosted by the ARCA Midwest Tour. In the first Border Wars race back on April 12th at Toledo Speedway (OH), Turner finished 11th in the 7-Up 150 and was hoping for a solid top 10 or even higher against an expected stacked field at Illiana Motor Speedway (IN).

Prior to the Illiana race, Turner and crew went with 16-year-old Cole Rouse to Columbus Motor Speedway (OH) for the third JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance event of the year, the Agroscapes 100 Presented by SizzleMarine.com & JEGs.com. Rouse qualified seventh and finished 11th. "The holiday weekend started great with Cole on Friday and Saturday. We gave him a fast race car. Proud of the guys for working hard and Cole is getting better each week. We'll see how it goes in Milwaukee."

As for Illiana; "Man that was a rough one. The car was tight and we made it better for Monday. Then started 17th since we just missed the fast heat. Finished third in that race." He continued. "In the first half of the feature the car was ok and then it got pretty on the outside. After the halfway break, something happened and the car got real tight. It was so much fun to race with the Midwest Tour guys. They race clean which makes these type of events fun." He ended.

At Illiana, Turner made his 217th career start in the ARCA/CRA Super Series, good for second all-time. He is now only six starts behind the now retired Kenny Tweedy (223) for the all-time lead. Turner is also amongst the all-time leaders in nearly every statistical category within the series' 18-year history.

For the rest of the 2014 racing season, Turner's black and red #26 will have sponsor decals from T.J.
