Illiana Motor Speedway For Border Wars II Next For 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Rookie Of The Year Ali Kern
Second combination race with ARCA Midwest Tour in Lorz Motorsports' backyard (Special from Ali Kern Motorsports)
May 22, 2014
Fremont, Ohio (May 22, 2014) – Ali Kern knows what it takes to be successful. The 2013
ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS Rookie of the Year and Overall Runner-Up
finished behind only series champion, Travis Braden in the final points standings and
knows it's a long season. So the Fremont, Ohio driver is not discouraged by the start of
her sophomore campaign in the series despite less than stellar finishes.

Kern and the Ali Kern Motorsports / Lorz Motorsports team are looking to rebound in a
big way with the running of the second Border Wars event putting the ARCA/CRA Super
Series teams and the cars and stars of the ARCA Midwest Tour Presented by SCAG
Power Equipment head to head. The Calypso Lemonade 150 is set for Memorial Day
Monday, May 26th at Illiana Motor Speedway, located south of Chicago, Illinois in
Schererville, Indiana. The Chicagoland area facility is a fast 1/2 (0.500) semi-banked
paved oval, similar to her home track of Sandusky Speedway (OH).

"I'm really looking forward to this weekend at Illiana for the combined CRA/Midwest Tour
race.  Hopefully, we've gotten all the bugs worked out with our new Port City race car."
The recently turned 21-year-old stated. "We have an awesome new car and a really good
McGunegill engine.  We have all the pieces to the puzzle; we just have to put it together now." She added.

After the first two ARCA/CRA Super Series events, she is currently in eighth place in the season long points chase, but knows she has a lot more to offer and expects to be in contention for wins. "Pretty disappointed with our run at Anderson (Back on April 26th). Two different rookies got into us and pretty much ruined our night." She explained. "I still don't know how I finished on the lead lap with a bent spindle and the toe knocked out an inch especially racing at a track like Anderson. We're not going to let that happen again." She ended. Kern would bring home as 12th place finish.

For the rest of the 2014 racing season, Kern will be behind the wheel of a pair of black #28 Ali Kern Motorsports / Ford Fusions maintained by Lorz Motorsports. Her machines will carry sponsorship decals and support throughout the year from CROWN BATTERY as well as Port City Racecars, Eibach Springs, K&N Filters, Prince Building Systems, Hybrid Haven, VanDoorn Racing Development and M.P.H. Promotions.
