ARCA Midwest Tour Getting Set for Calypso Lemonade Border Wars II
Touring Stars, Local Heroes, and ARCA/CRA Super Series Drivers will All be Going for the Win (Special from ARCA Midwest Tour)
May 21, 2014
Williams Bay, Wisconsin (May 21, 2014) – The ARCA Midwest Tour presented by Scag
Power Equipment will host the Calypso Lemonade Border Wars II welcoming the ARCA/
CRA Super Series to Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, IN on Sunday & Monday,
May 25th & 26th. There are currently over 30 drivers entered for the 150 lap event.

In the first round of the Border Wars, the ARCA Midwest Tour headed to Toledo, OH to
battle it out on the ARCA/CRA Super Series turf. Brian Campbell showed the way taking
home the victory. ARCA Midwest Touring Star, Nathan Haseleu was the top finishing Tour
driver, finishing in 6th.

This weekend, local drivers such as, Paul Shafer Jr., Midwest Touring Star, Boris Jurkovic,
Eddie Hoffman, and more will all be looking to claim victory in front of their hometown
crowd. ARCA/CRA Super Series driver, Brian Campbell is no stranger to victory lane at
the historic track either, his last victory coming in September of 2013.

This will be the fourth time the Midwest Tour will visit the track. Three different drivers
found victory lane in the last three events; Jacob Goede, Steve Carlson, and Ross
Kenseth. Kenseth will be the only returning driver to have previously won an ARCA
Midwest Tour event at the track.

Campbell leads the charge for the ARCA/CRA Super Series contingent with Kenseth, who
comes into the event second in ARCA/CRA points. Defending series champion, Travis
Braden, 2013 Rookie of the Year, Ali Kern, veteran Rick Turner, rising star, Brett Robinson along-with 2014 rookie title contenders, Shafer Jr., Canadian Brandon Watson, JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour graduate, Thomas Woodin and Dalton Armstrong will fly the colors of CRA.

This will be the ARCA/CRA Super Series' seventh all-time appearance and first since June 21, 2008 when Boris Jurkovic went to victory lane after winning the 7th annual Elmer Musgrave Memorial that season. Eddie Hoffman leads all drivers with two career CRA wins at Illiana while Jurkovic, three-time series champion, Scott Hantz, 2007 ARCA Midwest Tour Champion, Nathan Haseleu and Chicagoland legend, Dave Weltmeyer all have single victories.

Both the ARCA Midwest Tour and the ARCA/CRA Super Series have some of the most talented drivers in the country. To watch them go head-to-head at a track that many of them have found success at will be an event to remember.

On Saturday from 11:00am-2:00pm at Menards on Hwy 41 in Schererville, IN, fans can sample some great tasting Calypso Lemonade and have a chance to win tickets to Monday’s event. Illiana Speedway Champion, Paul Shafer Jr. will have his car on display and 103.9 X Rock will be hosting a live remote from 11:00am-1:00pm.

Teams will have a chance to prepare for Monday’s event with a full day of practice on Sunday. Practice will begin at 2:00pm and end at 6:00pm.
