CRA Announces Return of the JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown
Premier ARCA/CRA Super Series Events at Anderson, Berlin and Winchester take Center Stage
May 14, 2014
Salem, Indiana (May 14, 2014) – Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS officials
announced today the return of the JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown for
the 2014 season. The three premier point’s events for the ARCA/CRA Super Series
Powered by JEGS will once again take center stage in the Triple Crown, the events will
include the Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway, the Berlin 251 at
Berlin Raceway and the 43rd Annual Winchester 400 at the famed Winchester Speedway.

Any driver who can win all three Triple Crown events will receive a $100,000 bonus.  Any
driver who wins two Triple Crown events will receive a $10,000 bonus.  If no driver wins two
of the Triple Crown events, the driver who accumulates the most points during those three
events will receive a $5,000 bonus and the title of Champion of the JEGS/CRA $100,00
Super Late Model Triple Crown. A driver must be present and attempt to make the field in
all three of the Triple Crown events to be eligible for any of the bonuses.

Johnny VanDoorn came close to claiming last year’s JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late
Model Triple Crown, which very few people expected anyone to have a chance. VanDoorn won the Berlin 251, his first ever feature win at his former home track, then got the big win at the Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300, guaranteeing him the minimum $10,000 bonus, at the Winchester 400, mechanical issues regulated VanDoorn to an eighth place finish, ending his dream of capturing the big dollar bonus.

“Last year’s JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown created a lot of excitement and interest during the entire season and especially as Johnny closed in on his big opportunity to win $100,000 at the Winchester 400,” noted CRA co-owner and Series Director Glenn Luckett, “Nobody’s had the opportunity to win that kind of money at our level in a long time. Johnny just missed out on his shot at a huge payday last year, but thanks to JEGS and the three tracks involved, someone else could have the same opportunity again this season!”

Each event in the JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown will also have a “tune-up” event earlier in the season, before each leg of the Triple Crown is run. The first Triple Crown event will be the Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway on June 14th, which had its tune up event on April 26th were T.J. Reaid got the win. The second leg of the Triple Crown will be the Berlin 251 at Berlin Raceway on July 19th with a tune-up event on May 31st. The third and final leg, where the Triple Crown Champion will be crowned, will be the Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway on October 12th. Winchester will have tune-up for that big event as part of the Labor Day Weekend Stock Car Festival, with the series feature event on Monday, September 1st.

The eyes of the racing world will be on these three special events, and leading the coverage will be Speed51.com. The Speed51.com staff will be at each of the Triple Crown events to provide extensive and in-depth coverage of all the action.
