The Rattler 250 Part II Will See Chad Finley Start On The Front Row
Second quick qualifying effort has Finley optimistic for a return trip to Alabama (Special from Chad Finley Racing)
March 18, 2014
DeWitt, Michigan (March 18, 2014) – The first race of the 2014 racing season for the Chad
Finley Racing Team will have to wait at least another week. The 38th Running of the
Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway, in Opp, Alabama was rained out on race day,
Sunday, March 16th and has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 22nd.

What this means for Finley and crew is a return trip to the Cotton State after spending
Thursday through Saturday, March 13-15th turning laps in Practice around the fast 4/10s
(0.400) mile semi-banked paved oval followed by Qualifying for the Southern Super Series
season opener. Finley timed in second quick out of 28 cars and will take the green flag
from the outside of the front row for the 250-lap main when they return to Alabama.

"Really looking forward to getting back to SAS this weekend. It's unfortunate that so many
people had to drive home who came from far away, but the race track made the right
decision to cancel Sunday." Offered the DeWitt, Michigan driver. "I've been hanging out in
Mooresville, North Carolina all week and it's been fun to get back here and see so many
people who I used to race with." He added.

As for his #42, Finley stated that; "The tire is a lot different from last year and it kind of threw us off a little this time. We were so good last year and came back with the same set up this year and it was just a little off."The now 22-year-old continued. "We worked really hard through practice steadily making gains and we were able to have a great qualifying effort. Would have liked to repeat the pole from last year, but lap 250 is the one that counts. Can't wait to get back down there Saturday and get going again and hopefully have a solid effort I think we have a really good shot." He ended.

Once the Rattler is complete, Finley and the CFR team will have a couple of weeks to prepare for the first major event of the season closer to home in the Midwest. The ARCA/CRA Super Series season opener on Friday-Saturday, April 11-12th as the historic 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio as Border Wars I - 7-Up 150 is a combination race pitting the ARCA/CRA Super Series head to head with the ARCA Midwest Tour.
