Salem, Indiana (September 13, 2014) – Quinnton Bear got his first ever Vore’s Welding
CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS win Saturday night at Anderson
Speedway in the PGG 100 Presented by Thompson Builders. Bear, the son of Central
Indiana racer Freddy Bear, had to work his way through the field after being sent to the
tail after contact that caused the first of several cautions in the event. The event was a
combo race with the CRA Late Model Sportsman and the Anderson Speedway
McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models, one of two 100 lap events for the series at
Anderson Speedway during the 2014 season.
Bear was able to close on race leader Jason Atkinson late in the event, was able to get
around Atkinson to take the lead and the eventual win and collect the $2000 first place
money and awards put up by PGG over Ronnie Rose who finished in second and Jeff
Marcum who finished in third.
Current series points leader Greg Van Alst finished in fourth place and extended his
points lead over Jack Dossey III after he finished in sixth place. Kent Baledge finished in
fifth. Former series Champion Mark Lambert finished in seventh place while Matthew
Parsons finished in eighth in his first ever series event, coming back after having two flat
tires. Rob Allman finished in ninth, the last car on the lead lap. Kent Carson finished in tenth.
