Muskegon, Michigan (October 28, 2014) – For over 30 years Port City Chassis has branded
itself as building some of the fastest - most proven, race winning cars in the country, as well
as the best customer service in the industry, and they aren’t slowing down any time soon. In
addition to their 45,000 square foot facility, Port City Chassis is expanding once again with
a new Research & Development Department.
Out of this freshly renovated location, Port City Chassis will be providing Shock Building &
Repairs, Chassis Pull Downs, Tech support for Chassis Suspension, Bump Stops and
Bump Springs all key elements to customer service. Information will be accurately gained
by utilizing the very same state of the art MOTEC Data Acquisition software/hardware that is
used by cup teams today such as RCR, BKR and TRD. Port City Chassis will have a new
dedicated R&D house car devoted to testing weekly and logging data and research for Port City customers all over the country.
With the addition of the new R&D Division, Harley Boeve, owner of Port City Chassis, has hired Mike Bursley to assist in the growth and expansion of this division. Bursley, who recently resigned from his position as GM at Berlin Raceway after 3 years, is no stranger to race cars and what it takes to win. The former racer, car owner, and chassis manufacturer (who’s business combined with Port City Chassis in the fall of 2011) is eager and ready to bring cutting edge technology and support to short track racing.
This is something that Harley has been looking at doing for some time but did not have all the correct personnel in place. Now we feel that we do! Port City Chassis has always strived to provide our customers with the best resources and technology that we could, and now more than ever we feel we will be able to do that and much more. We will be able to provide our customers with more accurate info and tech support than what we have done in years past, no more one setup works for every driver. We will be able to work directly with the drivers and crew chiefs to tailor setups to match their driving style and track conditions.
“This is a perfect way for us to continue to try and develop new things for our customers on a regular basis and I can’t begin to describe how excited I am to have been given this opportunity. Harley is providing me with some of the best technology and resources out there and I can’t wait to get started,” Bursley stated. “This is huge for Port City and its customers, not only will we be able to monitor bump loads with the load cells on the Data Acc., but also gauge real time tire temperatures to help on accurately adjusting camber and knowing the amount of heat in the tire to adjust accordingly.”
Port City Chassis and its new R&D Department will be on display at the PRI Trade Show on December 11-12-13 in Indianapolis at booth 4701
