Waterford, Michigan (September 4, 2014) – Amber Slagle and her Amber Slagle Racing
team are headed to the 3/8 (0.375) high banked Owosso Speedway in Ovid, Michigan for
the running of the Big O’ Classic 100 Presented by JEGS.com, the 12th event in the
season long JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour schedule this coming Saturday, September 6th!
This will be Slagle’s first appearance since the Saturday, July 5th running of the Powers
Automotive 100 Presented by JEGS.com at the 3/8 (0.375) mile high banked Angola
Motorsport Speedway in Angola, Indiana. Slagle would pilot her #24 MCM Management
Chevrolet Impala SS to an impressive 9th place qualifying effort, just ahead of current
JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour overall points leader Dan Leeck. After running near the top 10
through most of the event, Slagle was caught up in one of the many accidents throughout
the night, ending her race at lap 79.
The damage to the #24 MCM Management Chevrolet Impala SS was substantial and
would prove to be costly as the Amber Slagle Racing team was not able to secure funding
to fix the race car and attend the last three JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour Presented by
Chevrolet Performance events at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan, Auto City
Speedway in Clio, Michigan, and Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana.
Amber Slagle Racing, however, has not been completely idle. On August 30th, Slagle
strapped in to her familiar white, purple & pink MCM Management sponsored Late Model Sportsman at her home track, Springport Motor Speedway in Springport, Michigan, home of the #13 event on the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour calendar and showed once again why she is a fan favorite at the West Michigan speedway. She finished 2nd in her heat race, after a side-by-side battle for the lead & captured a solid 5th place run in the feature.
“It’s nice to load the car in one piece and score a top 5,” Slagle said.
Next up for Amber Slagle and her Amber Slagle Racing team is the 12th event in the season long JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance chase for the overall points standings, as well as, the Howie Lettow Rookie of the Year Award. Hosting the event will be the Owosso Speedway in Ovid, Michigan, a home game for the Michigan driver, who was the 2011 4-Cylinder Track Champion at the track.
Amber Slagle & her Amber Slagle Racing team will once again field a #24 Chevrolet SS Pro Late Model sponsored by MCM Industrial Services, AMSoil, Animal Aid Foundations, Sparks Tune-up, and NEXT Motorsports Marketing.
“I wouldn’t be here without my sponsors, I can’t thank them enough, especially David Mardigian of MCM Industrial Services, he has done so much for me,” said the humbled 18 year old.
