Birch Run, Michigan (September 4, 2014) – Dan Leeck and his Dan Leeck Racing team
continued their outstanding season on Sunday evening with yet another top 5 effort in the
running of the 2014 Labor Day Weekend World Stock Car Festival at the ½ (0.500) mile
high banked Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana. That top 5 run at the World’s
Fastest Half Mile once again helped add to their JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour Presented by
Chevrolet Performance season long overall points lead.
After several solid sessions during practice day, as well as, solid practice sessions on
race day, the #12 team felt good about their Mr. Asphalt Chevrolet SS Pro Late Model. A
2nd place qualifying effort would back up the speed shown in practice. An invert of 9
resulted in an 8th place start. Once the race went green, things didn’t go as smoothly as
planned. Bad track position & an ill handling car mired the Michigan driver mid-pack
through the first half of the event. A mid-race pit stop for adjustments was just what the
doctor ordered. As the race neared its conclusion, the car showed great improvement. In
fact, Leeck was faster than the leader and eventual winner Trent Snyder in the closing
laps. Overall it was a solid weekend for the Dan Leeck Racing team, finishing 5th.
“I have to thank my entire crew for all of their hard work and A+ effort this weekend. We
had a great car all weekend, during practice and qualifying, after a pit stop we got the car
much better, but just ran out of time at the end,” stated the 24-year old wheelman.
Next up for Dan and his Dan Leeck Racing team is the running of the Big O’ Classic 100 Presented by JEGS.com at the 3/8 (0.375) mile, high banked Owosso Speedway in Ovid, Michigan. Owosso Speedway has long been one of Dan’s favorite racetracks and he looks to capitalize on his experience at the track this Saturday, September 6th. Last season’s event was cancelled due to rain.
