Birch Run, Michigan (August 25, 2014) – Another runner-up finish for Dan Leeck at Auto
City Speedway in Clio, Michigan, Saturday, August 9th, helped the 24 year old driver
extend his JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance points lead over
Josh Nelms.
After a qualifying effort that was not to the liking of the team, they pulled the #12 out of
line, made a few changes and started from the rear. An early spin halted Leeck’s forward
progress for just a moment. Avoiding accident after accident, Leeck drove his #12
Chevrolet SS through the field, taking the lead before the final caution. That final caution
would prove to be costly as Leeck lined up next to veteran Outlaw Super Late Model
driver, Eric Lee. Lee took the lead on the restart and never looked back, going on to win
the Auto City 100 Presented by JEGS.com.
“We never gave up,” Leeck said. “I know I say this every week, but I am so proud of my
team”.
Next up for Dan & his Dan Leeck Racing team is a trip to the famed high banks of
Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana for the running of the Winchester 100
Presented by JEGS.com, as part of the 2014 Labor Day Weekend World Stock Car Festival. The Winchester 100 is the #11 race in the season long chase for the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance overall points champion. Winchester Speedway is the sight of Leeck’s first career Fast Time Award during Winchester 400 weekend last season.
“I never thought I would enjoy tracks like Winchester Speedway and Salem Speedway. Now, I can’t wait to get back to them. As a race car driver, Winchester is a place you have to respect and you learn to love,” stated the 24-year old wheelman of the #12 Pro Late Model.
