JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Rookie, 16-Year-Old Cole Rouse Ready For The High-Banks Of Salem Speedway Arkansas rookie ready for historic Southern Indiana oval (Special from Cole Rouse Racing)
June 17, 2014
Fort Smith, Arkansas (June 17, 2014) – As his rookie season in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars
Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance continues, 16-year-old Cole Rouse has shown
signs of breaking out in a big way. Patience is a virtue when it comes to rookie drivers,
especially those with roughly 30 career starts overall in a full bodied racecar. After a rough
start in his last race, at another new track to him, Rouse rebounded and recovered in a
big way to post a respectable 11th place showing.

May 24th was the last race on the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour schedule as the Agroscapes
100 Presented by SizzleMarine.com was at Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus,
Ohio. The circular shaped 1/3 (0.333) mile semi-banked paved oval was another new track
to the 2014 Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year title contender. After Qualifying
seventh, the inversion draw put him on the inside of the second row for the race.

On the initial start, contact was made with another driver resulting in a multi-car pile-up in
turn three. Rouse was sent to the rear of the field by series officials as a result of the
incident. Not deterred, the Fort Smith Arkansas driver patiently waded his way back up
towards the front and  in the end came away with an 11th place finish. He also moved up
in the standings as he is now third in the rookie title chase and an impressive eighth
overall in JEGS/CRA points.

"Columbus didn't go well at the start. We had a little trouble in practice, but we made a few changes before qualifying and that helped a bunch." Rouse stated. "After the first lap accident, we had to go to the tail and made are way back up to 11th. The car was pretty good coming back towards the front and I think if we had 20 more laps I could have made it back to the top five." He added.

Another new track for Rouse the Cole Rouse Racing / Turner Racing Team is up next as he'll take on the famed 0.555 mile high-banked paved oval of Salem Speedway in Salem, Indiana on Saturday, June 21st. The John Jones Auto Group 100 Presented by Mountaineer Firewood & JEGs.com is up next. "It'll be the first time I've ever been to Salem and I'm looking forward to it. I've heard it's a very fast and bumpy track. Hoping to get a top five or maybe even a win." He ended.

Rouse started his racing career just two years ago in Baby Grands. After 11 events in those cars, he made the quick jump up to Pro Late Models for the 2013 season. In his debut he finished third at Lebanon I-44. He would go on to finish ninth in the season long points chase. Despite his limited experience, Rouse did make two appearances in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour and picked up a career high, to date, eighth place showing at Memphis International Raceway (TN).

For the remainder of the 2014 racing season, Rouse and his black and yellow #20 ColeRouseRacing.com Toyota Camry will have stickers adorning the car all year long from Rouse Custom Homes as well as McGunegill Engine Performance and M.P.H. Promotions.
