Joliet, Illinois (May 13, 2014) – Last year Dave Gentile Jr & crew decided to make the 6-
hour trek down to Lebanon, MO, unsure what the outcome would be, but emerged a top 5
car all weekend. Gentile & crew turned heads & made waves in the inaugural JEGS/CRA
All-Stars Tour Mercy Masters of the Pros 144 when he drove his #6 to a 5th place finish.
"We were up to 4th at the break, but the tire situation lost us 8 spots at the break and we
had just 44 laps to get back to the front," said Gentile. "We battled our way back to 5th,
which was pretty good considering the competition."
He's looking to better those results in his first Jegs Race of the 2014 season. "We made
a few changes over the winter, and we're really happy with the car," Gentile continued.
Gentile took his Hamke out to Grundy County Speedway for the season opener on April
25. The car was fast right off the trailer. Gentile started the feature in the 8th position and
by lap 12 was attempting a pass for the lead. Dave was unable to finish the feature, due
to a unavoidable incident. "While it wasn't the outcome we expected, our main goal that
night was to shake down the car & get it ready for Lebanon. We were happy with how the
car handled in practice, qualifying & during the race. To avoid any additional damage the
team decided to pull off early."
