Waterford, Michigan (April 29, 2014) – Amber Slagle’s rookie campaign in JEGS/CRA All
Stars presented by Chevrolet Performance competition begins this coming Sunday, May
4th at Springport Motor Speedway in Springport, Michigan in the running the “Cabin Fever
100” presented by JEGS.com. The season opener could not come at a better track for the
17-year old Waterford, Michigan native, as she finished 4th in the Late Model Sportsman
A-Division at the track just last season.
Slagle, 17, is set to make a run at the Howie Lettow Rookie of the Year Award this
season in the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour. She made her Pro Late Model debut at Zaxby’s
Speedfest at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele Georgia on Sunday, January 26,
2014, posting an impressive 19th (out of 31) place finish on the fast 3/8 mile, home of
NASCAR Sprint Cup star David Ragan.
“It’s an absolute dream come true, I’m living my dream, I’m so thankful for this
opportunity,” stated Slagle. Her #24 Chevrolet Impala SS will sport black, pink, & blue
colors and carry sponsorship from MCM Industrial Services, MCM Motorsports, Animal
Aid Foundation of Michigan, AMSOIL, Sparks Tune-Up and NEXT Motorsports Marketing.
The Amber Slagle Racing team has a star-studded line up behind the scenes. Chuck Hoffmeyer, 2012 Springport Outlaw Super Late Model Champion crew chief, will serve as crew chief. Steve Slagle will serve as car chief. Brent Downey of Downey Racing, LLC will serve as a special consultant, along side hotshoe and 2011 ARCA/CRA Super Series Rookie of the Year & Champion, Derrick Griffin. Road racing standout Aaron Bambach of Rochester Hills, Michigan will once again serve as spotter. Other Amber Slagle Racing crewmembers include Dane Long, Kenny Robinson, Austin Slagle and Glen Wilson.
Next up for Amber Slagle & her Amber Slagle Racing team will be the Mercy “Masters of the Pros” 144 presented by JEGS.com at the Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Missouri on Saturday, May 17, 2014. This event is considered by many the biggest points paying event of the season for the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour presented by Chevrolet Performance and will be the biggest race of Amber Slagle’s career to this point. Last year Chase Elliot, now a NASCAR Nationwide Series race winner, went to victory lane picking up the $8,000 winners check and a “Master’s Green Jacket” trophy.
