Blair began his racing career in August of 2007 with the Kansas City Karting Association (KCKA) and
one year later finished first in the KCKA Yamaha Sportsman Points Standings as well as second in
the KCKA TAG 60 Points chase. In addition he was also third in the SKUSA CSC Yamaha Sportsman Points. In 2009, the team went racing with the Route 66 Series and scored several runner-up finishes to finish the season second in TAG 60 points.
In 2010 he made the jump to oval racing and won his first Mini Cup race at JRP Speedway in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He also raced several events in a kart, moving up in class. He was 11 years of age racing against kids as much as four years his senior. His final year in karts found him racing with as many as 32 karts, and finishing as high as sixth. In 2011, Blair went full time oval racing with the Pro National Series Baby Grands and recorded several top fives to score a fifth place finish in the points. The 2012 season saw Blair finish one spot higher in fourth in the National Points.
During the 2013 season, Blair would collect three Feature Wins and eight top five finishes on his way to a runner-up showing in the Pro National Series Baby Grands. He also made the big move into a full sized Late Model running three races at Lebanon I-44 Speedway with a season high of a third place finish on September 7th. Two weeks later, Blair traveled to Lucas Oil Raceway (IN) and made his first career start in the CRA Late Model Sportsman Series where he finished 13th in a 26-car field.
"By going to the CRA Late Model Sportsman race in Indianapolis last year, it provided our team with the experience of a multiple day race weekend, with longer practice sessions, qualifying, and a longer race." The 15-year-old explained. "Before Indy, our team had only experienced shorter practice sessions, heat races, and shorter races. The team and I were able to gain valuable experience in the pits and on the track. LOR is a faster and much larger track than the tracks I was on previously, giving me lots of seat time on a faster and bigger track."
Blair then ended with; "In addition, I was able to gain valuable race seat time, as there were many more cars on track than previous experiences. By going to LOR that weekend, I was able to get a feel for bigger and faster events preparing me for this season with larger fields and faster tracks which was a big help to the entire team and I as we get ready for this season."
For the upcoming 2014 racing season, Blair's #81 Port City Racecars entry will carry sponsorship support and decals from Abacus Search & Staffing as well as Honda of Tiffany Springs, John Goodman D.D.S., Burleson Orthodontics, Five Star Racecar Bodies and M.P.H. Promotions.
