Jacobs Racing; Successful at the World Series
2014 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Season up next for Canadian Brothers
March 1, 2014
London, Ontario (March 1, 2014) – The two pro late model teams fielded by Jacobs
Racing ran a full week of competition this past week at Florida’s New Smyrna Speedway,
racing seven times in nine nights at the 48th annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car
Racing.  With over 40 of the best pro late model teams entered in the event, Marc and
Jaxson had their work cut out for them. In a grueling test of speed and grit.

Marc’s week started off slow, with three consecutive mid-pack finishes in his #79 Five
Star Ultra Glass Bodies entry.  Competing in their third World Series, Marc and long time
crew chief Craig Gibson were not to be held back, and after receiving advice from Florida
super late model driver Anthony Sergi, the 79 car went on a roll, finishing the week with
four consecutive top-ten finishes and a career high of seventh in points out of over 40 pro
late model teams.  Said Marc; “It’s very gratifying to be able to come down here and
compete with the best.  This team has worked extremely hard over the off-season on this
new car and to be able to see positive results coming from that effort is just great.  Our
program made great progress this week and hopefully it transfers to the upcoming
season.”

Jaxson Jacobs, Marc’s younger brother and the 2013 JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour’s “Most
Popular Driver”, started his week with speed, capturing multiple top 10 finishes and
proving his ability to race side by side with some of the top pro late model competition in
North America.  Jaxson, working with crew chief Ken Jacobs and long time Delaware
Speedway late model racer Adam Quarrie, turned heads all week and at the end of the
seven nights, came out as the top Canadian team in the pro late model division, finishing
an impressive sixth in overall points, edging out fellow Canadian and older brother Marc
by a mere 5 points.  “It’s an honour being the Top Canadian in this division here at the
World Series.  The competition is really stout and to be able to race the way we did this
week really proves we belong here and shows that we’ll be contenders for years to come.”

Jacobs Racing would like to thank our sponsors: Five Star Ultraglass Bodies, Rocky’s
