Waterford, Michigan (January 20, 2014) – The 2014 season is one of excitement for 17-year old, Amber Slagle. Slagle
& her Amber Slagle Racing team will run for the Howie Lettow Rookie of the Year, in the very competitive JEGS/CRA All
Stars Tour presented by Chevrolet Performance. Her first event will be this coming weekend at Watermelon Capital
Speedway in Cordele, Georgia in the running of The Zaxby’s Speedfest.
Slagle, a Waterford, Michigan native, began racing at 7 years old. Winning many races in quarter midgets, she moved
up to full sized racecars in 2010 and won the 2011 Sport Stock Championship at the Owosso Speedway in Ovid,
Michigan. The next step in her racing career included a stop in a Late Model Sportsman.
Success came quickly and included a feature win, in her first appearance at the Springport Motor Speedway. She also
won Rookie of the Year at Dixie Motor Speedway that same year. In 2013, she backed up her impressive win at the
Springport Motor Speedway from one year earlier, by finishing 4th in the overall point’s standings.
For the Zaxby’s Speedfest, Amber Slagle Racing will have a who’s who of racers on their pit box. Brent Downey, of
Downey Racing, LLC, will serve as Crew Chief. Derrick Griffin, the 2011 ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS
Champion, will serve as Car Chief. Other crewmembers will include, 2012 Springport Motor Speedway Outlaw Super
Late Model Champion Crew Chief, Charles Hoffmeyer, Late Model driver, Dane Long & road course sports car racing
standout, Aaron Bambach.
