16-Year-Old Hunter Baize To Finish At Least Fifth In Final JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Points; Winchester Next
Blue Grass State teenager hoping to kick off Winchester 400 weekend in victory lane (Special from Hunter Baize Racing)
October 2, 2014
Bremen, Kentucky (October 2, 2014) – As the 2014 racing season in the JEGS/CRA
All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance comes to a close, 16-year-old
Hunter Baize knows one thing; He'll finish at least fifth in the final points standings.
With only the Winchester 100 Presented by JEGS.com on Friday, October 10th left
on the schedule, the Blue Grass State teenager has overcome an adventurous
sophomore season with a strong of solid finishes to end the year in the template
bodied / crate motor tour.

The legendary 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval  of Winchester Speedway
located west of the Indiana / Ohio state line and east of Muncie in Winchester,
Indiana will see the JEGS/CRA teams  kick off the prestigious 43rd running of the
Winchester 400 Weekend. In Baize's last appearance on the historic high-banks,
the Bremen, Kentucky driver left Eastern Indiana with an impressive second place
showing. In the final race on 400 weekend, already guaranteed at least a fifth  in the
final points, Baize wants one thing; a Win.

"We're excited about heading back to Winchester. We had a great car there last
time and feel we can really challenge for the win." Baize remarked as he and his
Hunter Baize Racing / VanDoorn Racing Development Team also have a chance at fourth place overall in the standings. "We've had a good stretch of races here in the last couple of months and we'd really be happy to end the JEGS/CRA season on a high note and maybe even a fourth in the final standings. Which would be great considering how June and July went for us." He added.

After winning his first ever race in a Late Model in the Agroscapes 100 Presented by Sizzle Marine on May 24th at Columbus Motor Speedway (OH), Baize went on a run he'd rather forget in four points races with a best finish of only an 11th. He recovered nicely though starting on August 9th at Auto City Speedway (MI) with a third place finish. Since then four of the last five events have resulted in at least a top five finish which has vaulted him from as low as 10th in the standings to his current position in fifth with a chance at fourth in the final race of the JEGS/CRA season.

In his last race at the 0.686 mile semi-banked paved oval of Lucas Oil Raceway (IN) over the weekend of September 27-28th, the Chevrolet Performance 100 Presented by Advanced Racing Suspension was a part of the McGunegill Engine Performance CRA Fall Brawl 2014 Presented by EDCO Welding at the track located west of Indianapolis in Brownsburg, Indiana. After qualifying a disappointing 21st, he rebounded nicely by garnering 16 positions en route to a fifth place showing.

"We found speed early at LOR, ending up in the top six in both practice sessions. But Qualifying didn't go anywhere near as well as we hoped; I honestly don't know what happened." Explained the second year JEGS/CRA competitor. "We were able to start picking cars off from the drop of the green, and came from P21 to the top five in 31 laps. The car handled very well all race."

Going into the final race of the season in JEGS/CRA at Winchester, Baize stands fifth in the Tour points standings and is now only 10 points back of fourth place Dalton Armstrong. Baize has one win this season as well as five top five finishes which also account for his five top 10 showings. He does have one Fast Qualifier Award, which came at Berlin Raceway (MI) on July 18th.

After the Winchester race, the 'post-season' begins for Baize and crew starting on October 31-November 1st at the famed 0.596 mile high-banked paved oval of Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville (TN) in Nashville, Tennessee for the 30th Running of the All-American 400. Pro Late Models headline this year's version of the race with a 300-lap main preceded by a 100-lap Last Chance Race. "We will run the All American 400 in Nashville that will be our closest race of the season. We'll have over 100 fans there, and we hope to run well. After that, we plan to make select starts in bigger races this winter. Just haven't decided which ones just yet." Baize ended.

For the rest of the 2014 racing season, all of Baize's red and black #13 VanDoorn Racing Development / Ford Fusions will carry sponsorship decals and support from Mountaineer Firewood as well as Kawasaki, Steel City Bolt, Threaded Fasteners, T.J. Racing Lubricants, Wood-Mizer Portable Saw Mills, B&K Wood Products, Sterling Lumber Company, McGunegill Engine Performance and M.P.H. Promotions
