Post-Season Starts For 16-Year-Old Hunter Baize Beginning At Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville

2014 season for Hunter Baize Racing continues with end of the year specials (Special from Hunter Baize Racing)

Bremen, Kentucky (October 16, 2014) – With the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour

Presented by Chevrolet Performance season now over, 16-year-old Hunter Baize is

not quite ready to call it a year. The Bremen, Kentucky driver will head into the 'post-

season' with two of the biggest Pro Late Model races in the country fast

approaching. The 30th Running of the All-American 400 at Fairgrounds Speedway

Nashville (TN) and the Snowflake 100 at Five Flags Speedway (FL).

In Baize's last JEGS/CRA race, the legendary 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved

oval  of Winchester Speedway located west of the Indiana / Ohio state line and east

of Muncie in Winchester, Indiana hosted the weather shortened Winchester 75

Presented by JEGS.com. Originally a 100 lap main, Series and Track Officials

shortened the race after a three hour and 45 minute rain delay. The afternoon didn't

start so well for Baize who had to go to a backup car prior to Qualifying after a

Practice Accident.

As the JEGS/CRA teams kicked off the prestigious 43rd running of the Winchester

400 Weekend and with no track time in the backup car, Baize would start 23rd in the

shortened race. With 25 less laps to get to the front, the Blue Grass State driver

methodically picked his way through the field and despite a spin due to a left rear

tire going out, Baize charged back from the rear again to post a ninth place finish.

"It was a crazy end to the point's season. We had a ton of speed all weekend. I honestly don't know what happened in wrecking the primary car."Baize explained after the race. "The guys worked extremely hard to get the back-up ready, and it was fast from the drop of the green. We made it all the way to seventh before we blew a left rear and spun. I really feel like we found our stride as a team towards the end of the season by finishing in the top five in four out of the last six races and a top 10 in five out of the last six." He added.

With a couple of weekends to recoup, the next event will be on Friday-Saturday,  October 31-Noverber 1 at the famed 0.596 mile high-banked paved oval  of Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville (TN) in Nashville, Tennessee for the 30th Running of the All-American 400. Under a myriad of different formats in recent seasons, the AA400 is now a Pro Late Model event with a 100-lap Last Chance Race preceding the 300-lap main. "We're very excited about the upcoming All American 400 in Nashville. We feel we can compete for the win." Baize ended.

Baize officially finished fifth in the final JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour points standings with one win, which came at Columbus Motor Speedway (OH) back on May 24 in the Agroscapes 100 Presented by Sizzle Marine & JEGS.com. He also recorded five top five finishes as well as six top 10 showings. He also snared his first career Fast Qualifier Award, which came at tricky Berlin Raceway (MI) on July 18th.
