CRA Street Stock Triple Crown Series Event Number One at Shady Bowl Speedway Saturday
Phantom Racing Gear to Debut Triple Crown Shirts

Salem, Indiana (April 16, 2014) – The Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks Powered by
JEGS will be back in action this Saturday at Shady Bowl Speedway located in DeGraff,
Ohio, in the first event of the CRA Street Stock Triple Crown Series, featuring three 200
lap, $3000 to win events starting with Saturday’s Commercial Roofing 200. The other two
events in the Triple Crown will be at Kentucky Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 25th and
at Anderson Speedway on Saturday, June 21st.
In addition to the $3000 to win for each event, there will be a Points Champion from the
three events who will receive a $1000 bonus. Second in points will receive a $500 bonus,
then there will be another $500 bonus from a random draw from the cars that attended all
three events. Phantom Racing Gear, the official Apparel Company of CRA, will debut CRA
Street Stock Triple Crown Series T-Shirts on Saturday, that will be available for purchase
in the pits and behind the main grandstands.
To date the event has already attracted 28 pre-entries, with several more expected in the
days leading up to the event. Topping the list of CRA regulars is current series point’s
leader Jason Atkinson, winner of the series season opener at Lucas Oil Raceway on April 6th. Multi-time CRA Champion Jeff Lane is also entered, he is currently second in points, only three behind Atkinson. 2012 Series Champion Jimmy Kirby is also entered, he is currently third in series points.
Other CRA regulars entered include 2013 series Champion Dustin Burge, CRA Veteran racer Jimmy Crabtree Jr., Brandon Mefford, Colby Lane, Josh Lank, Derrick Layne, Larry Lathan, Mason Keller, J.J. Schafer, Rich Segvich, Phil Jenkins and 2013 CRA Street Stock winners Calvin Parham and Jason Thompson. Also several series rookies are entered including Jeff Johnson, James Brown, Michael Walls and Columbus, Ohio’s Joseph Hensel.
The CRA regulars will have plenty of competition on Saturday led by Chuck Barnes of Louisville, Kentucky, one of the all-time leading Street Stock competitors in the Mid-west as the all-time victory leader on the famed High Banks of Salem Speedway and with the Frank Kimmel Street Stocks, with victories at such race tracks as Kentucky Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, Rockingham Speedway and Iowa Speedway. Third generation racer Will Kimmel of Sellersburg, Indiana is also entered, Kimmel has competed in two NASCAR Nationwide Series events so far in 2014 and will compete in selected ARCA Racing Series events as well. Multi-time Louisville Speedway and Salem Speedway Champion Shawn Smith of Louisville is also entered.
Jeff Albright of St. Paris, Ohio, a former regular with the CRA Street Stocks, leads the group of locals who have entered so far. Also Piqua’s Scott Edgell, Columbus native Phillip Gussler Jr., and former CRA regular Jason Drummond from Gibsonburg are all entered.
Gates open on Saturday at 12noon. Practice is set to begin at 2pm with qualifying at 4:30pm. The race program will begin at 6pm and will include the Commercial Roofing 200 for the Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks. Also in action will be the Shadybowl Compacts, Tuners and Pro 4’s.
