Salem, Indiana (October 26, 2014) – Owensboro, Ky. native Brett Hudson bested a
field of 47 cars to claim the win in the 26th Annual Halloween 200 at Salem
Speedway, located in Salem, Indiana on Sunday. With the victory, Hudson joins
Chuck Barnes, Sr. as the only drivers to win more than two Halloween 200 races.
Hudson, who visited victory lane in 2010 and 2012, has now won three of the last
five Halloween 200s. Hudson competed in the Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stock
200 lap Triple Crown events this past season and got the win at the 200 lap event
held at Kentucky Motor Speedway on May 25th.
Hudson worked through some early issues with his car, making several pit stops,
then worked traffic to perfection the rest of the afternoon staying in the top five for
most of the race before taking the lead for good with about 35 laps remaining. He
then outdistanced Frank Kimmel II of Borden, Ind., who had his car out front for a
good portion of the race.
Kimmel, the 2011 race winner, finished second with Todd Kempf of Huntingburg,
Indiana, third, Johnny Magee of Carthage, Indiana, fourth and Barnes of Louisville,
Ky. and a seven-time race winner, fifth. Brian Hopkins, Blake Hillard, Erik Brooks, Jason Thompson and Phil Jenkins made up the second five in that order.
