Ross Kenseth Looking To Make Up Ground In Chase For 2014 ARCA/CRA Super Series Championship 

New Track; Kil-Kare Speedway next followed by two tracks he's won at (Special from Boyne Machine Company Racing)

Jenison, Michigan (September 9, 2014) – The game plan remains the same for Ross

Kenseth and the Boyne Machine Company Racing Team. The 2014 ARCA/CRA Super

Series Powered by JEGS championship is what the team seeks. While the consistent

finishes have been there, three top five finishes and an impressive 10 top 10 showings, a

win has eluded the team thus far in their quest. With three races remaining, the 21-year-

old knows the time is now to start a win streak if he has hopes of catching and passing

current points leader and defending series champion, Travis Braden.

The next opportunity for the Little Chute, Wisconsin driver will be at a track he won't lay

eyes on until race day; the tricky 1/3 (0.333) mile semi-banked paved oval  of Kil-Kare

Speedway (OH), located southeast of Dayton in Xenia, Ohio. The Buckminn's D&D

Harley-Davidson / Oakley Blacktop 125 is set for a special Sunday afternoon, September

14th. Kil-Kare is also one of the two home tracks for Braden on the 2014 ARCA/CRA

schedule. So Kenseth knows he has his work cut out for him.

"I've never been there but have heard some really interesting things about the track. We

have been running a lot better lately at the really slow flat tracks so hopefully that will

transfer over to Kil-Kare, a place Travis (Braden) seems to dominate at." Kenseth

explained. "It's going to be tough only having limited practice on Sunday, but hopefully we

can unload like we did at Flat Rock and just be fast off the truck and not have any bad

luck." He added.

In Kenseth's last ARCA/CRA race, the Winchester 100 at the legendary high-banks of

Winchester Speedway (IN) over the Labor Day Holiday Weekend, he would come away with a seventh place finish after qualifying in seventh. It was his 10th top 10 finish of the season. "Winchester was pretty indicative to how our seasons been going. Felt like we had a pretty good car at one of my better tracks and lap two something broke on the 29 (Anderson  Bowen) when he was under me and I got hit hard in the left rear tire." He explained.

"From that point on we were just trying to salvage all we could, one of those racing deals where we were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and that took away a really good chance for us to get some of those points back. "Kenseth continued. "Somehow we managed to get a seventh out of all that with a bent rear end and a tore up car." He stated.

In an effort to get in some more track time and perhaps prepare for the race at Kil-Kare, Kenseth and the Boyne Team stayed close to home on September 6th as they raced at another tricky layout, Berlin Raceway (MI) in the tracks Chet Mysliwiec Memorial Season Championships. Competing in the tracks Boyne Machine Company Super Late Model division (ARCA/CRA Super Series -type) he would leave the Marne, Michigan speed plant with a fourth place showing.

"Berlin was a tough race; we had a decent car and wound up fourth. I was pretty happy with that considering that isn't one track I usually run to well at." Continued Kenseth, who now resides in near-by Jenison, Michigan. "It was cool to race on their championship night they had a great crowd and some really strong cars." He ended.

In ARCA/CRA Super Series competition in 2014, Kenseth has racked up three top five finishes with a season high showing of a third at Anderson Speedway (IN) back on April 26th. What's kept Kenseth within at least the top three in the season long points chase is the whopping 10 top 10 showings in 11 series points races during the year. He also has one Fast Qualifier Award, which came at Flat Rock Speedway (MI) back on August 16th.

Kenseth's black #77 will continue to carry the colors of Boyne Machine Company, Enterprise Iron & Metal and DOC360, the three primary sponsors, for the rest of the 2014 racing season.
