Salem, Indiana (September 24, 2014) – All four Champion Racing Association divisions
will be in action this weekend in the McGunegill Engine Performance CRA Fall Brawl
2014 Presented by EDCO Welding at Lucas Oil Raceway, located just outside of
Indianapolis, Indiana. The Champion Racing Association promoted Fall Brawl has
become a very popular stock car racing event in central Indiana with each feature winner
getting an event signature trophy that includes a pair of boxing gloves.
The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS will compete in the EDCO Welding 100
Presented by Quarter Master on Sunday afternoon. Topping the list of entries for
Sunday’s event is 2013 series Champion and current series point’s leader Travis Braden,
who has two series wins to date in 2014. Second in points Ross Kenseth is also
entered, the son of NASCAR Sprint Series Champion Matt Kenseth is currently 33
points behind Braden with only two events left in the 2014 season.
Other top series drivers entered include series two time 2014 series winner Brian
Campbell, Kil-Kare series winner Brandon Oakley, Rick Turner, Ali Kern, Senneker
Performance Rookie of the Year point’s leader Wes Griffith Jr. and fellow rookies Paul
Shafer Jr. and Brandon Watson. Also entered are part-time CRA competitors Chad
Finley, Brandon Hermiller, Terry Van Haitsma, Chris Koslek, Terry Fisher Jr. and Brent
Jack.
The CRA competitors will have plenty of outside competition on Sunday including John
Hunter Nemechek who is racing in selected NASCAR Camping World Truck Series
events in 2014 and has two JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event wins in 2014 and lost by
only 0.024 seconds to Kyle Busch at the finish line in the series event at Lucas Oil
Raceway in July. North Carolina hot shoe Daniel Hemric is entered, he was the 2012
JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Champion and 2013 Southern Super Series Champion and a
winner at the series Redbud 300 in July. Also entered are Alabama drivers Hunter
Robbins and Dennis Reno, plus Richie Wauters development drivers Will Gallaher from
California, Dalton Sargeant from Florida and Spencer Wauters from North Carolina.
Dominique Van Wieringen, winner of last year’s JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event at the
Fall Brawl, is entered to make her ARCA/CRA Super Series debut on Sunday. Michigan
racer Jordan Pruitt will also make his series debut on Sunday. ARCA Racing Series and
part-time NASCAR Nationwide Series competitor Will Kimmel will make his second
series start on Sunday.
The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will be in action in the Chevrolet Performance 100 Presented by Advanced Racing Suspensions on Sunday. Topping the list of series regulars entered for Sunday is current series point’s leader Dan Leeck, who comes into the event with a 57 point lead over Howie Lettow Rookie of the Year Presented by Howe Racing Rookie Grant Quinlan, who is also entered, with only two events left in the 2014 season. Quinlan picked up his second win of the season in last weekend’s event at Springport Motor Speedway.
Other series regulars entered include Columbus Motor Speedway winner Hunter Baize, Josh Nelms, Jaxson Jacobs, Marc Jacobs, Corey Deuser, Jack Smith and fellow Howie Lettow Rookie of the Year Presented by Howe Racing rookies Dalton Armstrong, Tristan Van Wieringen and Cole Rouse. Several other talented drivers who have made selected series starts in 2014 are entered including former series LOR winner Mike Bursley, Jeff Cannon, Mike Stacy, Kyle Jones, Kody Evans, Travis Eddy, Joe Morisette Jr., Kyle Crump, Kevin Zielezinski, Nikky Saxon, Kevin Willis, Josh Cave and Chad Pendleton. Georgia driver Dakota Jackson, Trey Craig, Jacob Blair and Bill Burba are all entered to make their 2014 series debuts on Sunday. John Hunter Nemechek and Chad Finley, a four time series winner, are both entered to do double duty on Sunday.
The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS will be in action on Sunday in the Reynolds Body Shop 40. That event will be the ninth event of the season for the series, to date the series has had eight different winners in the eight events held so far this season. Series event winners in 2014 include Chris Hacker, Trey Craig, Danny Trent, Greg Van Alst, Jason Atkinson, Shawn Amor, Billy Van Meter and Quinntan Bear who got the win in the series last event at Anderson Speedway on September 13th.
Van Alst comes into this weekend as the series points leader, he has a slim nine point lead over top series rookie Jack Dossey III. Van Meter is in third place, he is 33 points behind Dossey. Atkinson is in fourth place, he is 15 points behind Van Meter. Rookie J.P. Crabtree is in fifth place, he is 14 points behind Atkinson.
The Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will compete in the Two Men and a Truck 40 Presented by PBM Performance Products on Sunday. Jason Atkinson tops the series with three wins so far this season. Josh Poore has two wins. Single event winners include Brett Hudson, Bret Miles Jr., Dustin Burge, Jeff Lane and Tyler Marsh, who won the series last event on September 6th at Anderson Speedway.
Atkinson comes into Sunday’s event as the current series point’s leader, he leads 2013 series Champion Dustin Burge by 41 points. Leading series rookie Jeff Johnson is third in series points. Josh Lank is in fourth place, he is only six points behind Johnson. Rookie James Kirby III has moved into fifth place now, he is only one point behind Lank.
The MEP CRA Fall Brawl 2014 Presented by EDCO Welding gets started on Saturday, with the pit gates opening at 8:00am. Practice starts at 11:30am for all four CRA divisions and the Vores Compact Touring Series. Then after two complete Practice Sessions for all five divisions, Qualifying begins at 4:30pm., to set the starting line-ups for Sunday's schedule of Feature racing.
On Sunday, the pit gates open at 9:00am., with the Drivers Meetings starting at 11:00am. Warm-up sessions for all five divisions begin at 11:45am., then after Pre-Race Ceremonies, racing gets going at 1:00pm., with Last Chance Races (if needed) followed by 310 laps of Feature racing.
