September 10, 2014 - Event Information - Entry List
Salem, Indiana (September 10, 2014) – The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS
will make its second ever visit to Kil-Kare Speedway, located in Xenia, Ohio, this Sunday
for the Buckminn’s D&D Harley Davidson/Oakley Blacktop 125. The event will once again
pit the best of the ARCA/CRA Super Series against some very tough local competition on
the tricky 1/3 (0.333) mile semi-banked paved oval located southeast of Dayton.

2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion and current series point’s leader Travis Braden
put on a show in winning last year’s inaugural event at Kil-Kare. Braden overcame an
accident on lap 21 that knocked him out of the lead as a result of contact and ensuing
spin while battling for the lead with early race leaders Justin Alsip and Mike Stacy.
Braden battled back through the field to take the lead on lap 88 from David Carter and
went on to get the popular win at his former home track. Braden looks to pick up his third
win of the season on Sunday after victories at Columbus Motor Speedway in the Bud St.
Amant Memorial event and Flat Rock Speedway so far this season.

Second in series points Ross Kenseth, son of NASCAR Champion Ross Kenseth, is
entered. Kenseth is only 22 points behind Braden in the battle for the 2014 series
Championship as he looks to pick up his first victory of the 2014 season. Other top CRA
drivers entered include series veteran Rick Turner, Ali Kern, third place finisher in last
year’s Kil-Kare event as well as Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year point’s leader Wes Griffith Jr. and fellow rookies Paul Shafer Jr. and Brandon Watson. Also entered are part-time CRA competitors and Ohio natives Nick Gullatta, and Jason Dietsch.

Several other part-time series drivers, all from the Kil-Kare area, are entered and all have lots of laps at Kil-Kare including Brandon Oakley who has three wins there in 2014 and claimed the Robbie Dean Memorial Series Championship. Also former track Champion Justin Alsip and Kyle Jones in team cars, veteran racer Mike Stacy and Cincinnati veteran racer Jeep Pflum. Oakley’s crew chief, Gary Estes is also scheduled to make his second ever series start, the first came in this event last year.

Topping the list of local drivers entered is Kil-Kare current point’s leader Cody Robinson, who has three Kil-Kare wins so far this season. Also Bill Burba who has four Kil-Kare wins so far this season, Ryan Fleming who has one Kil-Kare win this season, along with Josh Cahill, Matt Parsons, and Don Mahaffey Jr. in a team car with Burba.

The series will have a little international flavor on Sunday with New Zeeland native Michael Pickens making his series debut with the Lorz Motorsports team. Pickens is currently New Zealand's leading open wheel driver with feature wins and Championships in Midgets and Sprint cars, but has also scored open wheel wins in Australia and the United States. Pickens does have some stock car experience as he looks to expand that experience on Sunday with the ARCA/CRA Super Series.

On Sunday, pits open at 11am. Practice will begin at 1pm, with qualifying starting at 3pm. Racing action will begin at 4pm and will include the Buckminn’s D&D Harley Davidson/Oakley Blacktop 125 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS along with special feature events for the Kil-Kare Speedway Sport Stocks and Compact divisions.
