Kalamazoo Speedway up Next for ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS

Salem, Indiana (August 8, 2014) – The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS will
head back to Michigan for the Boyne Machine 100 this Wednesday, August 13th as part
of the Kalamazoo Klash XXII Presented by Boyne Machine Company and Enterprise Iron
& Metal at the famed Kalamazoo Speedway, located just outside Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The Kalamazoo Klash is the number one Outlaw Super Late Model event in the nation
held each year Kalamazoo Speedway, this will be the ARCA/CRA Super Series first time
being a part of this huge event. This will be the fourth series event at Kalamazoo
Speedway, Fred Campbell got the win in the first ever series event held there in 2002,
Andy Ponstein got the win in 2005 and Brian Campbell got the win in the series last event
at Kalamazoo in July of 2006.

NASCAR Star Kyle Busch tops the list of entries for the Boyne Machine 100 making his
20th career start with the ARCA/CRA Super Series, it will be his first with the series at
Kalamazoo. Busch scored his ninth CRA victory in an exciting fourth turn pass of John
Hunter Nemechek on July 25th at Lucas Oil Raceway. Busch has victories in most of the
series' signature events including the Winchester 400 in 2009, the Redbud 300 at
Anderson Speedway in 2009, SpeedFest in 2009, 2010 and 2012, and the Rowdy 251
(Now Battle at Berlin 251) in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Busch will be doing double duty on
Wednesday, he is also entered to compete in the Kalamazoo Klash.

Fellow NASCAR Sprint Cup driver David Ragan is also entered. Ragan has competed with
the ARCA/CRA Super Series at the SpeedFest events at Watermelon Capital Speedway
the last three years, and raced with the series on July 25th at Lucas Oil Raceway. Ragan
won a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Talladega last season.

Todd Gilliland, the 14 year old son of NASCAR Sprint Cup driver David Gilliland, is also
entered to compete in his second ever series event after a ninth place finish at Lucas Oil
Raceway.

Topping the list of ARCA/CRA Super Series competitors entered is 2013 series Champion Travis Braden, who just took over the series points lead with his first victory of the season, last Saturday at Columbus Motor Speedway. Ross Kenseth, the son of NASCA Sprint Cup Champion Matt Kenseth, is also entered, he comes into Wednesday’s race 14 points behind Braden in second place in series points.

Other top CRA drivers entered include three time ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion and Berlin 251 winner Johnny VanDoorn, three time JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour winner Chad Finley,  CRA veteran racer Rick Turner, Ali Kern, Nick Gullatta, Brandon Oakley, Thomas Woodin, Jordan Sims and the top Senneker Performance Rookie drivers Wes Griffith Jr. , Paul Shafer Jr., and Canadian Brandon Watson. Part-time CRA competitor Steve Dorer from Lakeland, Florida is also entered, Steve won the July 26th JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour vent at Anderson Speedway. 

There are several drivers from the Kalamazoo/Berlin area entered, many of whom compete in the Berlin Raceway Budweiser Late Models including Chris Koslek, Terry Van Haitsma, Tim Devos, Alec Carll, Jon Beach, Dave Lake, and Joe Bush, as well as Michigan natives and part-time series competitors Brandon Hermiller, Justin Claucherty and Jay Niewiek.

Two of Michigan’s top Outlaw Super Late Model drivers are entered to do double duty on Wednesday. Multi-time Kalamazoo Klash winner Terry Senneker Jr. will be a tough challenger in both events while current Kalamazoo Outlaw Super Late Model points leader Mike Brooks is entered to make his CRA debut Wednesday night. Senneker got a second place finish with the series at Berlin on May 31st and finished fourth in the Berlin 251 after leading several laps.

There will be an open practice on Tuesday, pit gates open at 4:30pm with practice going from 5:30 to 8:30pm. On Wednesday pit gates will open at 9am. Practice will begin at 1pm with qualifying at 3:30pm. The race program will begin at 6:30pm and will include the Boyne Machine 100 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series. The Kalamazoo Klash XXII will follow the ARCA/CRA Super Series race and will be run in three 50 lap segments.
