Winamac, Indiana (August 5, 2014) – The 2014 racing season for 15-year-old J.J. Haley
has been a whirlwind to say the least. Appearances in four different touring series have
had the Winamac, Indiana driver criss-crossing across the country all the while gaining
valuable seat team in different cars and at different facilities. The next race on the
schedule will be at a track that Haley has seen time at; Berlin Raceway.
Haley will make his fifth start for Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA Racing Series
Presented by Menards on Saturday, August 9th in the Federated Auto Parts 200. The
fast 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval located west of Grand Rapids in Marne,
Michigan is a track that Haley has turned laps on. Appearances in the ARCA/CRA Super
Series on May 31st and in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour on July 18th have prepared
Haley for the tricky layout and he feels he's ready to contend for his first ARCA Racing
Series victory.
"Berlin Raceway is one of the trickiest tracks I have raced on. There are so many corners,
but yet you have to hit your marks perfectly to make a good lap." Explained Haley as he
prepares for his third race of the season at the historic West Michigan speed plant. "I'm
looking forward to a challenge this weekend at Berlin and I certainly appreciate everyone
at Venturini Motorsports for the opportunity." He added.
In four previous appearances in ARCA for the Venturini Team, Haley has one top five finish, which was a third at Elko Speedway (MN) back on June 21st in the Akona 250 Presented by Federated Car Care. He also has two top 10 finishes and one Menards Pole Award, which also came at Elko. Back on May 18th at Toledo Speedway (OH), Haley became the youngest driver in ARCA Racing Series history to start a race and at Elko became the youngest ever Pole Award Winner. In both case in rewriting both records, he erased Kyle Benjamin's name from both.
Over the weekend of August 1-2nd, Haley was at Iowa Speedway (IA) on Friday the 1st for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East / West combo race, the Autolite Iridium XP 150 where he finished 24th. Then the next day, Saturday the 2nd, a trip to Columbus Motor Speedway (OH) for the JEGS Bud St. Amant Memorial 174 Presented by CoughlinCars.com for the ARCA/CRA Super Series where he was involved in a wreck and finished 16th.
"Just one of them weekends, always better things to come from the worse. Making my second start in the K&N Series race was a challenge, especially considering it is the biggest and fastest race track I have ever been on. I loved it, couldn't have had a better time." He stated. "At Columbus, it was an honor to be a part of a very special race. Unfortunately a mid race pile up would end are night too soon. We had a great car all night and the guys in the pits did an excellent job getting me up front." He ended.
Amongst the season accomplishments for Haley in addition to his ARCA exploits include his first ever win in a Late Model when he scored the victory in the 2014 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Season Opener at Springport Motor Speedway (MI) on May 4th.
For the rest of the 2014 racing season in Super Late Model and Pro Late Model competition, Haley's black #99 J.J. Haley Racing Chevrolet as well as the rest of the fleet of J.J. Haley Racing entries with Crew Chief, Bobby Blount calling the shots on top of the pit box all season long, will sport sponsorship decals and support from Braun Ability as well as Braun Auto Group, Two Guys Mechanical, JMR Trucking, T.J. Racing Lubricants and M.P.H. Promotions.
