Ali Kern Making Up For Lost Time With Scott Neal Racing; Carries Momentum Into Final Four Events
Ties career high finish with second place effort at Flat Rock (Special from Ali Kern Motorsports)
August 27, 2014
Fremont, Ohio (August 27, 2014) – For 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS
Rookie of the Year and Overall Runner-Up, Ali Kern, the 2014 campaign hadn't been
anything to write home about. Prior to joining forces with Scott Neal Racing, Kern's
sophomore campaign could've been summarized by looking up the term sophomore
slump and seeing the 21-year-old's picture posted next to the definition. Fast forward to
the last two events and Kern has taken that label and thrown it right out the window.

In the last ARCA/CRA Super Series race, the 7-Up 125 at Flat Rock Speedway (MI) on
August 16th, the Fremont, Ohio driver showed what she's truly capable of as she battled
tooth and nail with defending series champion, Travis Braden for the win. She led twice en
route to tying a career high finish of a second. This was the third time in her brief ARCA/
CRA career that she has posted a runner-up showing. Two of those podium finishes have
come at the fast 1/4 mile in southeast Michigan.

"What can I say, I love Flat Rock Speedway!" She boasted after the race. "Short tracks
are my favorite and Flat Rock is so fun to race at.  We had such a great car, Thank You
Scott Neal and my crew. Plus the crowd was amazing. They were really enjoying the
show Travis and I were putting on. I was so close to my first win in the ARCA/CRA Super
Series. I have a lot of respect for Travis Braden and Steve Dorer for really racing me clean.
That's how it should be, talented drivers racing each other clean and putting on a great show for all the fans." She added.

With the second place showing, she moved up to sixth in the season long points chase. Her first top five of the season goes with the three top 10s she has accumulated during the year. She is now only 17 points outside of the coveted top five in the Drivers Points Standings behind Rick Turner. "I'm so thankful to finally be able to show what our team is capable of doing.  We intend to finish the season out strong." She added.

There's four races remaining in the points season for the ARCA/CRA Super Series and two of those races are at the legendary 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana. The first of those two shows is set for Sunday-Monday, August 31-September 1st with the running of the Winchester 100. The headlining event of the tracks traditional Labor Day Weekend World Stock Car Festival.

"We're all looking forward to running at Winchester again this weekend.  We've worked really hard to get our car dialed in.  Hopefully, we'll have as much fun as we did at Flat Rock." The Buckeye State driver continued. "A special Thank You to Hal Hawk and everyone at Crown Battery for the continued encouragement and for strongly supporting everything we do." She ended.

For the rest of the 2014 racing season, Kern will climb behind the wheel of a pair of black #28 Ali Kern Motorsports / Scott Neal Racing Ford Fusions. Both cars will carry sponsorship decals and support throughout the rest of the year from Crown Battery as well as Port City Racecars, Eibach Springs, Prince Building Systems, Hybrid Haven, VanDoorn Racing Development and M.P.H. Promotions.
