Fremont, Ohio (August 12, 2014) – In an effort to finish out the 2014 racing season
strong, 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Rookie of the Year, Ali Kern has joined forces with
Scott Neal Racing for the remainder of the year. The first race together for the 2013
Overall Runner-Up and Neal, the 2011 Championship Winning Crew Chief with series
champion and rookie of the year, Derrick Griffin, came at Columbus Motor Speedway
(OH) on August 2nd in the Inaugural JEGS Bud St. Amant Memorial 174 Presented by
CoughlinCars.com.

"We wrenched pretty hard for two days at Columbus to make the crate car competitive
and we did.  When you can roll a car on the inside and outside you know you have a hot
rod." Stated the 21-year-old sophomore competitor. "Having Gary Balough and Scott
Neal onboard at Columbus and for them to tell me that my feedback was invaluable
meant so much to me. They have so much experience between them that they got the
car where it needed to be." She added.

After starting the race on the inside of the seventh row, Kern was on the move as she quickly worked her way into the seventh spot. Just in front of her, contact was made between two cars resulting in Brian Campbell sitting sideways on the track. With nowhere to go, Kern unfortunately slammed into the side of Campbell's stalled machine. "I really pride myself on the ability to avoid wrecks, but this time there was absolutely no place to go.  It was so sad to see really good race cars taken out so early on in a 174 lap race." She stated.

With a weekend off, the Scott Neal Racing & Ali Kern Motorsports teams have been working diligently getting the cars ready for two races in four days in the state of Michigan. On Wednesday, August 13th, Kalamazoo Speedway (MI) hosts the Boyne Machine Company 100 and then on Saturday, August 16th, the ARCA/CRA Super Series makes the trip across the Great Lakes State east to Flat Rock Speedway for the 7-Up 125. It was at Flat Rock one season ago where Kern tied her career high finish in the series, a second.

"We feel really honored to be finishing the 2014 season with Scott Neal Racing.  They're a Championship Team.  Despite the rough start at Columbus, we're confident this is a winning combination." Kern continued. "We are so excited to get to Kalamazoo. We'll be ready. This is going to be a great night of racing.  I've only run at Kalamazoo once but that was in my Modified, so it will be a completely different race in the ARCA/CRA car. Then we're off to Flat Rock and I can't wait to get back there. Myself and my parents want to thank our sponsor Crown Battery/Hal Hawk for strongly supporting us and our decisions throughout this trying season." She ended.

Heading into the Michigan Doubleheader Weekend, Kern sits seventh in the season long points chase only 52 points outside of the coveted top five in the standings. For the rest of the 2014 racing season, Kern will climb behind the wheel of a pair of black #28 Ali Kern Motorsports / Scott Neal Racing Ford Fusions. Her machines will carry sponsorship decals and support throughout the year from Crown Battery as well as Port City Racecars, Eibach Springs, K&N Filters, Prince Building Systems, Hybrid Haven, VanDoorn Racing Development and M.P.H. Promotions.
