Matt Hall Hoping For 'Home Game' Against ARCA/CRA Super Series At Flat Rock Speedway Proves Beneficial
New Car has Newport, Michigan driver confident heading to the fast 1/4 mile (Special from Matt Hall Motorsports)
August 14, 2014
Newport, Michigan (August 14, 2014) – Matt Hall has been racing with the ARCA/CRA
Super Series Powered by JEGS off and on since the 2011 racing season. In 12 career
starts, the Newport, Michigan driver has generated one top 10 finish; an eighth at
Anderson Speedway in 2011. Hall expects more from himself and knows he has the ability
to garner solid finishes and contend for victories in the series. After an accomplished
career in template bodied / crate motored machines, the success hasn't come quickly for
the 21-year-old in Super Late Models, but he hasn't lost faith.

The next appearance in ARCA/CRA for Hall will be at his home track; the fast 1/4 (0.250)
mile semi-banked paved oval of Flat Rock Speedway (MI) located just five minutes from
the Matt Hall Motorsports race shop. He qualified sixth quick a season ago at the
Southeast Michigan speed plant, less than 0.2 seconds behind Track Record setter and
eventual 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion, Travis Braden. So Hall knows he's
competitive.  It's just a matter of everything coming together at the right time for him and
his team.

"Coming into a track like Flat Rock gives me more confidence than anywhere else we will
go to. It's what I call home and is a track I have grew up around and raced at throughout
my years in multiple different cars." He explained as he and his Matt Hall Motorsports
Team continue final preparations for the 'home game'. "Last year it looked as if home was
going to treat us right but had a power steering failure while running second.

Hall has made limited ARCA/CRA appearances in 2014 with the most recent coming at Lucas Oil Raceway (IN) on July 25th in the Circle City 100 Presented by JEGS.com. "With the problems that caused a headache in Indy now fixed, we are more than confident heading into our home track this upcoming weekend." Hall continued. "Everyone has been putting in the hours to get this new car figured out and this weekend should be a great test to show what the team really has to put forth." He ended.

The Great Lakes State driver has enjoyed success in his career in Go-Karts as well as Micro Sprints before moving up to full-size cars in 2008. In the old Super Pro Late Model Series that year, he finished fifth overall in Super Pro points and captured the Rookie of the Year title while Crew Chief, Brian Moore was awarded the Crew Chief of the Year award in the series.

After a trying 2009 season that saw him finish 10th in Super Pro points, the 2010 racing season saw Hall qualify in the top three in every Super Pro Series race held. But a hard crash at Winchester Speedway in August had the rest of the season in doubt for the team. They regrouped the best way possible though in a return trip to the high-banks and would win the Winchester 50 during that years Winchester 400 Weekend en route to salvaging another 10th place finish in the final points standings for the second year in a row in what would be the last year for the series. His win at Winchester that October ended up being the final race ever for the Super Pro Series.
