All-Time Career Starts Mark Getting Closer For Rick Turner; Two Away From Setting The Standard
JEGS Bud St. Amant Memorial 174 at Columbus Motor Speedway up next (Special from Rick Turner Racing)
July 31, 2014
Yorktown, Indiana (July 31, 2014) – As the 2014 season progresses for Rick Turner in the
ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS, one thing is certain; The Yorktown, Indiana
veteran continues to persevere in the toughest Super Late Model touring series in the
country. As the series hits the home stretch and getting closer to the end of the year,
Turner is sitting fifth place in the season long points chase. Keeping in mind there's still
seven races remaining on the schedule.

With that being said, the next event on the calendar will be the JEGS Bud St. Amant
Memorial 174 Presented by CoughlinCars.com on Saturday, August 2nd. The 1/3 (0.333)
mile semi-banked, circular shaped paved oval of Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus,
Ohio serves as hosts. This event is a make-up date from the postponed June 28th show
that was rained out.

"We found some things the last time at Columbus that has helped our program a lot. So
we are looking forward to going back and running a tough 174 laps." The 56-year-old
stated. "This is a neat deal for Gary's (St. Amant) dad and I'm glad we can be a part of it.
I think we can go over there and run up front. We were ninth quick in practice and we can
build on that."He added.

In the last two ARCA/CRA Super Series races for Turner, July 19th at Berlin Raceway (MI) and July 25th at Lucas Oil Raceway (IN), the 'Y-Town Hustler' came away with finishes of 19th and 14th respectively. "We had a couple good qualifying efforts at both places, but each time we thought that both tracks would tighten up during the race. So we kind of missed it in each one." Turner explained. "We didn't get the finishes that we wanted, but we are getting better and continuing to learn." He ended.

Turner goes into Columbus a solid fifth in the ARCA/CRA Super Series points standings, 24 points out of fourth place in the title chase. He has two top 10 finishes with a season high of a seventh coming at his home track of Anderson Speedway (IN) back on April 26th. In addition, Turner is now just two races away from tying the all-time career starts mark in ARCA/CRA Super Series history. Tentatively, the record breaking start will occur on August 16th at Flat Rock Speedway (MI).

As for the development driver within Rick Turner Racing, 17-year-old Cole Rouse, a Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year contender, is looking ahead to his next event. The Auto City 100 Presented by JEGS.com on Saturday, August 9th at Auto City Speedway, located north of Flint in Clio, Michigan. Another track that Rouse has yet to turn any laps on at, but looks forward to the challenge. In his last two races, July 18th at Berlin and July 26th at Anderson, a crash took him out of contention at Berlin while he survived another incident at Anderson to finish 12th.

"Berlin was a very tough racetrack to get a hold of, but I feel we did pretty well for our first time being there." The Fort Smith, Arkansas teenager remarked. "Anderson went very well we got there Saturday and right out of the trailer we were very fast for my first time being there. We lead the field to green, but got caught up in a wreck at lap 87 and had too much damage to keep up with the pace." He explained.
