DeWitt, Michigan (June 4, 2014) – As Chad Finley and his Chad Finley Racing Team
prepare for the next major event of their 2014 racing season, the DeWitt, Michigan driver
decided to go have a little fun on an off weekend. The 22-year-old brought out his Outlaw
bodied Pro Late Model and made the short 20 minute trip to Owosso Speedway for the
tracks weekly racing program. Finley left the 3/8s (0.375) mile high-banked paved oval
very happy after completing the clean sweep of the entire night.
After winning the Fast Qualifier Award, he took the lead in the Feature with five laps to go
in the 30-lap main and walked away with his first checkered flag of the 2014 racing
season. For Finley, it was his second start of the year in his Outlaw bodied machine that
was built over the winter in the CFR race shop. The plan for the car for the balance of the
season is to race at Owosso when the team is not traveling with their fleet of template
bodied machines.
"It feels great to win at home. This is a R&D car for us. Got to thank all the guys for
helping me on it. Lots of hours put in already at the shop and then we stay longer to get
the chance to work on this old girl." Finley remarked after the win. "She is fast and I’m
proud of everyone. This is a big boost for us and we will carry a lot of momentum from this win going forward." He added.
Now Finley and CFR prepare for one of the biggest races of the season in the Midwestern United States; the 3rd annual ARCA Fest will be held at the famed one mile (1.017) paved oval of the Milwaukee Mile, located west of Milwaukee in West Allis, Wisconsin on Friday-Sunday, June 6-8th. The ARCA Midwest Tour Presented by SCAG Power Equipment headlines ARCA Fest with the 3rd annual Swiss Colony Howie Lettow Memorial 150.
"I love Milwaukee. It is a fun place to race. To win this race would be huge." The Great Lakes State driver continued. "Howie (Lettow) was actually one of the first guys to give us tips when I first started in stock cars from go-karts. He was a super nice guy and very talented that’s for sure. Will be a lot of good cars there and we will be one of them for sure. We had a good car there last year and broke a shock early so redemption is on our mind. We are pumped and ready to go." Finley ended.
As for the rest of the 2014 racing season, Finley will run in several high-profile Super Late Model races throughout the country with a primary focus on the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS. He'll also run events within the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, ARCA Midwest Tour and the Southern Super Series. On some off weekends, Finley will also compete in an Outlaw Bodied Pro Late Model closer to home at Owosso Speedway (MI).
