Fremont, Ohio (June 11, 2014) – Four races into the 2014 racing season within the
ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS, 2013 Rookie of the Year and Overall
Runner-Up, Ali Kern would like to hit the reset button. She's still optimistic about the rest
of her sophomore season with the series and hopes that the next race on the schedule,
the Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300 will be the race that she breaks through with a solid
finish and momentum to build from for the rest of the year.
"(DO)n't qu(IT)...that's our mantra for this weekend at the Redbud 300. Unfortunately,
when a team starts a season with as many part failures as we've had, we also are forced
to reevaluate our plans for the remainder of 2014." Expressed Kern. "I just want to race.
I've only finished one this season and that was in a wrecked car. That being said, I'm very
blessed to be 'Living The Dream' every time we show up at the track." She added.
The Redbud 300 also serves as the first round of the coveted $100,000 JEGS Triple
Crown Series is at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana this Friday-Saturday, June
13-14th. Speed51.com's new 51 TV Pay Per View Broadcast will debut at the Central
Indiana speed plant. So what better time than now for the 21-year-old to break through
with a solid performance in such a high profile event.
In her last race, the Berlin 125 Presented by AutoWorldFinancial.com on May 31st at Berlin Raceway (MI), she was again a 'DNF'. "Berlin was a big disappointment for sure. I was ready to roll. I heard a lot of tire ringing going on around me and I was saving mine." The Fremont, Ohio driver continued. "Again, the same part that failed at Illiana failed again and we were done for the night at lap 30. On a good note, we believe that issue will be fixed this week as we're being told a representative will be at the track this week in Anderson and will replace the defective part." She stated.
Despite the rough start to the year for Kern, she is still inside the top 10 in the season long points chase as she sits ninth in standings. She's only 18 markers behind eighth place and still only 34 points outside of the coveted top five. "I personally want to thank my crew for all their hard work and effort and to all the people who are still supporting us. We're trying our best and we're keeping the faith." She ended.
For the rest of the 2014 racing season, Kern will climb behind the wheel of a pair of black #28 Ali Kern Motorsports / Ford Fusions maintained by Lorz Motorsports. Her machines will carry sponsorship decals and support throughout the year from CROWN BATTERY as well as Port City Racecars, Eibach Springs, K&N Filters, Prince Building Systems, Hybrid Haven, VanDoorn Racing Development and M.P.H.
