Jenison, Michigan (June 10, 2014) – Ross Kenseth has been to victory lane before at the
fast 1/4 (0.250) mile high-banked paved oval of Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana.
The Little Chute, Wisconsin native won the prestigious Redbud 300 back in 2012 and the
2014 version of the event is now race #1 of the $100,000 JEGS Triple Crown Series for the
ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS.
This Friday-Saturday, June 13-14th is the 300-lap main in Central Indiana and Kenseth,
along-with Crew Chief, Kelly Bires is hoping for a repeat performance of his 2012 triumph.
"Anderson is where I have run really well in the past and I'm really looking forward to
heading back down." Stated the 21-year-old son of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star, Matt
Kenseth. "We built a good notebook for what to do back in the April race and finished
third. We were good in Practice and Qualifying back then which says a lot for me
because I have never been a very good qualifier." He added.
In four ARCA/CRA Super Series races in 2014, Kenseth hasn't finished worse than ninth
and has two top five finishes to go with four top 10s. His season high is a third back on
April 26th at Anderson. Heading into the Redbud 300, Kenseth is 20 points back of points leader, Brian Campbell while enjoying a 38 point cushion over defending series champion, Travis Braden who sits third.
In Kenseth's last race, which just happens to be at the biggest and most famed speedway of all in his native Cheese State; the famed One Mile (1.017) mile semi-banked paved oval of the Milwaukee Mile, located west of Milwaukee in West Allis, Wisconsin hosted the 3rd Annual ARCA Fest. Highlighted by the Howie Lettow Memorial 150 for the ARCA Midwest Tour Presented by SCAG Power Equipment. After qualifying seventh quick out of 37 cars on the property, Kenseth would bring home a solid seventh place finish.
"Milwaukee was one of the most fun races I've been a part of in my recent memory. I wish we could have been racing for the lead but we were ran in the top five-six the whole race." Stated Kenseth after climbing from his #77 Tech Financial Service / Ford. "Track position was huge because it was really tough to pass after the first few laps of a restart. But with how many quality cars and drivers that were out there it made for some really exciting two and three wide racing on every restart. It was really cool to have Tech Financial Services on the car this weekend; we were just a little bit off of where we needed to be to be up there contending for the win." He ended.
