Veteran Joe Bush Set For ARCA/CRA Super Series Date At Berlin Raceway With Racing Awareness.com Team

Hastings, Michigan (May 30, 2014) – Prior to the start of the 2014 racing season it was
announced that Lauren Bush would join the RacingAwareness.com Supporting Helen
DeVos Children's Hospital Team for the 2014 racing season. She would also be a
teammate to Berlin Raceway veteran, Dave Lake and compete for the track's Template
Super Late Model Series Championship; it wasn't expected to have another teammate
added to the team. Her Father, Joe Bush.

The veteran Hastings, Michigan driver, a former three-time Track Champion at Berlin
(1992, 1993 & 2004) in the tracks Outlaw Super Late Model division, has made two starts
thus far in Berlin Raceway's Boyne Machine Super Late Model Series. Driving his
daughters #101 RacingAwareness.com Supporting Helen DeVos Children's Hospital entry
as his daughter remains on the sidelines for the first half of the year.  She has been on
leave from racing due to the birth of her first child, Renton Nicholas Bush/Sokolowski who
was born on April 29th.

So far in those two starts in the tracks popular Template Super Late Model series, Joe
Bush is currently seventh in the points standings as he recorded a sixth place finish in
the first race of the series on May 3rd. The only other start on May 17th resulted in a
ninth place showing. As Bush gets back into the swing of things racing wise, he knows he'll have to get up on the wheel in his next race.

While Lauren is set to return to action on Saturday, June 28th during the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital night at Berlin, her Father continues to wheel the potent machine at the famed 7/16 (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval. The 47-year-old will make only his second career start in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS on Saturday, May 31st in the running of the Berlin 125 Presented by AutoWorldFinancial.com.

"I am as excited as a little kid on Christmas morning to get back in the Racecar. I have been so eager and have been driving my dad crazy. But that's what daughters are for." Laughed the new mom. "I can't thank Racing Awareness enough for their continuous support and I can't wait to go to victory lane with my new little family." The 20-year-old from Hastings, Michigan added.

During his career her father made three starts in what is now the NASCAR Nationwide Series as well as a single start in what is now the NASCAR Camping World Trucks Series, is looking forward to climbing back behind the wheel. He is a former winner in the Main Event Racing Series has seen the majority of his success in a racecar within the Outlaw Super Late Model ranks and knows how tough the field is when the ARCA/CRA invaders come to West Michigan.

The veteran competitor does have quite a bit of experience in the Template Super Late Model world having competed in select events within the old ARTGO Challenge Series from 1986-1989 as well as the ICEMAN SuperCar Series from 1994-1997. He also raced in eight events in the old ASA AC-Delco Challenge Series between 1993-1997. His one and only appearance in the ARCA/CRA Super Series came on October 8, 2011 at Berlin driving for Ponstein Motorsports.

As for Lauren and when she returns to racing on a regular basis, the plans are for the Hastings, Michigan driver to compete in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance on a part-time basis.  Bush has made five career JEGS/CRA starts with two top 10 finishes to her credit, including a career high eighth at the legendary high-banks of  Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana in 2011.

RacingAwareness.com is a 501c3 charity, and the team donates its earnings to the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Foundation. The team was created in 2010 and has raised over $100,000 since its inception. The past two seasons, Dave Lake, a three-time track champion in three different divisions at Berlin, has driven the primary Super Late Model for the team and finished fourth this season in the series points while he was seventh in 2012.

The 20-year-old Bush is a third generation driver who started her racing career at 14 years old, competing in the Arena Racing Series at the DeltaPlex Arena before progressing to a full-sized stock car at Berlin Raceway in 2009 in the tracks old Young Guns division where she finished sixth in points. She also made her first career start in CRA competition that season when she competed with the CRA Late Model Sportsman Series at Winchester and finished 15th in her first start there.

One year later in 2010, she moved up to the Pro Stocks division and finished fifth in the points standings. She also made two more starts in the CRA Late Model Sportsman Series at Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio and back at Winchester that October and picked up finishes of 11th and 13th respectively. The 2011 season saw Bush make the biggest move of her career as she jumped behind the wheel of a Template Late Model competing at her home track of Berlin as well as making select appearance in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour.

She finished eighth in the points at Berlin in the first year for the tracks new Template Super Late Models Series. In 2012 she just missed the top 10 in points as she was 11th, but did garner her career high finish in a Late Model as she finished fifth on September 1, 2012 during the Inaugural Chet Championship Weekend at her home track.
