Title Chase begins at Toledo Speedway in the Border Wars I - 7-Up 150 (Special from Rick Turner Racing)
April 8, 2014
Yorktown, Indiana (April 8, 2014) – In the Champion Racing Association (CRA) Powered
by JEGS world, the 'Y-Town Hustler', Rick Turner is a name synonymous with the ARCA/
CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS. Turner is amongst the all-time leaders in just about
every statistical category in the series' 18-year history dating back to the inaugural 1997
racing season. With 214 career starts, tied for second all-time, the name Turner is a
familiar face when it comes to racing within CRA.

If there was a year when Turner made a statement that he wasn't done quite yet, it was in
2013 where the 55-year-old, who turns 56 in June, finished fourth in the final points, just
eight out of the runner-up spot. The Yorktown, Indiana veteran continues to persevere as
in the past seven seasons, Turner has finished at least fourth in the points standings on
four different occasions. Now as the 2014 racing season approaches, Turner is ready to
take on the next generation of aspiring stars who look up to the Hoosier State veteran as
a driver to beat.

The 2014 racing season for the ARCA/CRA Super Series  Powered by JEGS officially
begins at the fast 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Toledo Speedway in Toledo,
Ohio on Saturday, April 12th for Border Wars I - 7-Up 150. This event is also the first of two combination races pitting the ARCA/CRA stars against the ARCA Midwest Tour. Turner will look to make his 215th career start in the series to move him into sole possession of second place all-time and just eight starts away from taking over the lead in the all-time starts category.

"I really like Toledo, almost as much as I like Winchester. Both tracks are more similar than you might think," Explained Turner, the 2012 Winchester 400 Pole Award Winner as final preparations continue for the Rick Turner Racing team. "We've had a bunch of top five qualifying efforts up there and we want to get back at it to start the 2014 season. Last year we had a slow start as we experimented a lot and what we learned last year and this year working with Cole (Rouse) in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. Just being at the track more is going to make us better." He added.

In 13 career starts, out of the 14 all-time ARCA/CRA Super Series races conducted at Toledo Speedway, Turner has accumulated two top five finishes with a best finish of fourth back in 2009. He also has garnered six top 10s at the Buckeye State speed plant and by far has turned the most laps at the Toledo, Ohio of any ARCA/CRA regular who will be in the line-up.

While Turner prepares for the upcoming 2014 racing season and another run at the ARCA/CRA Super Series Championship, his team, Rick Turner Racing has expanded its horizons and in addition to the ARCA/CRA schedule, the team will be working with JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance competitor, 16-year-old Cole Rouse as the Fort Smith, Arkansas freshman will compete for the 2014 Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year title.

"This is something that I've thought about for awhile for when the time comes to hang up the helmet for good." Turner added. "We still plan on racing full-time in the ARCA/CRA Super Series. We finished fourth in the points last year and we know we can still contend for wins. But looking ahead towards the future, we want to groom up and coming drivers and help them move up the ladder. This is a great first step in doing that working with Cole (Rouse)." He added.

For Rouse, all focus and preparations have been steered towards the 2014 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Season Opener on Sunday, May 4th at the 3/8s (0.375) mile semi-banked paved oval of Springport Motor Speedway, located north of Jackson and south of Lansing in Springport, Michigan for the Cabin Fever 100 Presented by JEGS.com.

For the 2014 racing season, Turner, the familiar black and yellow #26 sponsor decals include; T.J. Racing Lubricants as well as McGunegill Engine Performance, AR Bodies, Schoenfeld Headers, Port City Racecars, Q.S. Components, A.J.'s High-Speed Graphics, Heartfelt Creations and M.P.H. Promotions.
