Toledo Speedway To Start The Chase For 2014 ARCA/CRA Super Series Title For 2013 Top Rookie Ali Kern
2013 Overall Runner-Up looking to move up one more spot in the standings in 2014 (Special from Ali Kern Motorsports)
April 8, 2014
Fremont, Ohio (April 8, 2014) – During the 2013 racing season, Ali Kern became the first
woman in Champion Racing Association's (CRA) history to Win the Rookie of the Year
title in CRA's premier tour; the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS.  A major
accomplishment to say the least in the premier Super Late Models tour in the country.
An achievement that is certainly not overlooked by the 20-year-old as she prepares for
her sophomore campaign.

"I was really honored to win the Rookie of the Year title last year and proud to be the first
female to accomplish that task." The appreciative driver stated. "Finishing overall point's
runner-up was amazing and receiving the Sportsman of the Year award really meant a lot
to all of us.  We had three podium finishes last year so I'm really ready to get that 'W'."
She added.

With 2013 in the rear view mirror, the 2014 racing season begins for Kern as well as for
the ARCA/CRA Super Series at the track closest to her Fremont, Ohio home; a short 45
minute drive to the fast 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Toledo Speedway in
Toledo, Ohio on Saturday, April 12th for Border Wars I - 7-Up 150. This event is also the
first of two combination races pitting the ARCA/CRA stars against the ARCA Midwest
Tour.

"We're really excited about starting the new season in the ARCA/CRA Super Series.
Last year was a learning year for us with Lorz Motorsports and we're coming into the 2014 season with a lot of confidence." The sophomore competitor continued. "We're back with Lorz this year and we're ready to get racing. This race is really special to me because I have a lot of local support."

"We qualified in the race last year, but had to drop out at the halfway break because we had damage we couldn't repair from a car getting into us during the last practice session." Kern explained. "Hopefully, we'll start the year off with a great finish at Toledo." She ended.

During her rookie voyage, Kern finished second in the ARCA/CRA Super Series points standings as she bested Inaugural Series Champion from the 1997 season, Kenny Tweedy by just a single point to secure the Runner-Up position. Another veteran campaigner, Rick Turner was only eight points back of Kern in a very tight race for positions second through fourth. Another accomplishment that Kern is well aware of.

In 14 races during the 2013 season within the ARCA/CRA Super Series, Kern collected three top five finishes, with two of those being her career high runner-up showings during the Michigan Doubleheader Weekend back on August 16-17th at Auto City Speedway (MI) and the next night at Flat Rock Speedway (MI). She also scored five top 10 finishes as well.
