Stayner, Ontario (April 4, 2014) – ager to follow up on a podium finish at New Smyrna
Speedway’s inaugural ‘Bruce Gowland Memorial’, 2-time OSCAAR Super Late Model tour
champion Brandon Watson has filed entry for the CRA Super Series’ season-opening
‘Border Wars 7-Up 150’.
It will mark Watson’s fourth career appearance at the high banked half-mile oval, and his
first start with the CRA Super Series since 2010.
“I can’t wait to get back to Toledo”, says Watson. “We’ve always run well there, and I
enjoy racing with caliber of competition that the CRA Super Series draws. It's always a
great way to test where our program is at when you run against some of the best drivers
in the country"
The third-generation star enters the event riding a wave of momentum, after a strong start
to his season at New Smyrna's World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing.
"We spent alot of our time in Florida fine tuning our setup", explains Watson. "It was a
great way to get an early start on our season, a top-3 at the Bruce Gowland Memorial is
exactly what we were looking for. Hopefully we can keep it rolling at Toledo".
After back to back championship with Ontario's OSCAAR tour, Watson will follow more of a freelance schedule in 2014, and he admits his performance at Toledo could have an outcome on the rest of his season.
"We chased points for two seasons with the OSCAAR tour and came to a decision as a team that we wanted to do more travelling this year. Our schedule is wide open, so if we can put together a good run at Toledo and drum up some additional marketing support, it's entirely possible that we could do make it to a few more CRA shows throughout the summer".
Brandon's 2014 season is made possible thanks to support from Shear Metal Products, Royal Distributing, Barrie Frame & Alignment, The Smart Exchange and Knightworks Designs. Additional packages are still available.
