Chad Finley Scores A 12th Place Finish In NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Debut
Qualified Third Fastest at Richmond International Raceway (Special from Chad Finley Racing)
April 29, 2014
DeWitt, Michigan (April 29, 2014) – Chad Finley and his Chad Finley Racing team knew
that his NASCAR K&N Pro Series East debut in the Blue Ox 100 would be a big step
towards the ultimate goal for the 22-year-old. The legendary 3/4 (0.750) mile semi-banked
paved oval of Richmond International Raceway in Richmond, Virginia was a track that
Finley had never seen before prior to arriving for the April 25th event, the first of up to four
scheduled races within the developmental series within NASCAR.

It didn't seem to matter though to Finley in his #29 Auto Value Parts Store & Certified
Service Centers /Airlift Company Ford who qualified an impressive third quick in Pole
Qualifying out of the 37 teams on the property which means he would start the 100-lap
race from the inside of the second row.

"Overall we had a good weekend in Richmond. We are such a small team and to go head
to head with teams with cup support and run well with them means a lot to me." Finley
stated. "I got to thank all of my team for making our car stronger every run in practice to
put us in position with a winning race car. We were really happy to qualify third and I think
that showcased the speed we had. Shane Whitbeck and I work well together also. Want
to thank him and every one at BKR as well" He added.

Finley would stay in the top three for over half of the race and in the top five for several laps after that before fading to a 12th place finish. "Early on in the race we were just biding our time saving tires and keeping the top two in sight." Finley continued. "I really thought we had a car capable of winning the race especially early on. Unfortunately on a restart we got dive bombed going into turn one and it knocked the fender off the car."

He then added; "With these cars being so aero dependent now, once the fender was knocked off the car just wasn't the same and we got really tight and just kind of had to hang on to finish 12th. The result isn't indicative of the effort and the speed we had so that's a little disappointing but there was definitely some positives to look forward to for the next race." The 22-year-old ended.

As for the remainder of the 2014 racing season and in addition to select appearances in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, Finley will also run in several high-profile Super Late Model races throughout the country with a primary focus on the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS. He'll also run events within the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance, ARCA Midwest Tour and the Southern Super Series. On some off weekends, Finley will also compete in an Outlaw Bodied Pro Late Model closer to home at Owosso Speedway (MI).

The next NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race for Finley is 'to be announced'. The next race overall for Finley will be behind the wheel of his Outlaw bodied Pro Late Model at his home track of Owosso Speedway (MI) in the tracks 2014 Season Opener. As for his CRA exploits, Finley's next run will be with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour at Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Missouri on May 17th for the Mercy Masters of the Pros 144.
