Stayner, Ontario (April 23, 2014) – After an impressive showing a Toledo Speedway was
cut short due to mechanical issues, Brandon Watson is more motivated than ever to
return to ARCA/CRA Super Series competition.
“I think it’s important not to focus on the negative, and instead just concentrate on how
well we were running before our engine troubles”, explained Watson. “We were on our
way a top-10 finish against some of the best talent in the Midwest, I think that speaks
volumes about our program”.
The third-generation star hopes to follow the ARCA/CRA Super Series throughout the
2014 season, and is well aware of how important a strong follow-up will be, after a DNF at
Toledo.
“We need to come out swinging at Anderson”, said Watson matter-of-factly. “I can’t
explain how proud I am of our team. I know that we have what it takes to run well on the
tour, and it’s important for us to put it all together this weekend”.
Watson has had prior success at the high-banked quarter-mile, earning a runner-up finish
in a 2011 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event.
“It’s one of the tougher tracks on the tour”, confirmed Watson. “Things happen in a hurry there. You might not hit the speeds that you do at some of the bigger tracks, but you can get into trouble a lot quicker”.
“Anderson is a driver’s track. It takes it out of you. 125 laps can go by in an awful hurry there, but you better make sure you’re up on the wheel for every one of them”.
When asked what sort of strategy will be best to implement at Anderson, Watson makes clear where his focus is.
“A good qualifying result is going to be huge for us. Anderson is a place where anything can happen. All it takes is for a car to get loose and everyone piles in. You want to make sure you’re as close to the front as possible”.
Brandon's 2014 season is made possible thanks to support from Shear Metal Products, Royal Distributing, Barrie Frame & Alignment, The Smart Exchange and Knightworks Designs. Additional packages are still available.
