Winamac, Indiana (October 8, 2014) – J.J. Haley is about to embark on the most
hectic weekend of his young career. The 15-year-old has already raced in almost 30
events during the 2014 racing season in a wide range of racecars and although he's
raced at Winchester Speedway (IN) before, nothing he has done has taken on such
significance for his career as the 43rd Running of the Winchester 400 Weekend. Not
only is he going to run the longest race of his career, he's going double-duty as well
by adding an extra 100 laps to the race weekend.
The famed 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval located west of the Indiana / Ohio
state line and east of Muncie in Winchester, Indiana will host the ARCA/CRA Super
Series Powered by JEGS signature event, the Winchester 400 on Sunday, October
12th. On Friday, October 10th, the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet
Performance kicks off the prestigious weekend with the running of the Winchester
100 Presented by JEGS.com. 500 total laps of racing plus practice and qualifying
will provide plenty of seat time for the Winamac, Indiana teenager.
"I can’t thank everyone for the opportunity to be able to do what I love every weekend
and week. I’m extremely blessed and can’t thank everyone enough for the support
and dedication." The appreciative Hoosier State teenager stated. "I’m looking forward
to being able to race in the Winchester 400. It is such a famed race that so many of
the greats have raced in. Being able to jump back in a Pro Late model is also always
a awesome experience, my team has worked so hard this whole season, it just shows the amount of love, passion, and dedication we all have in this sport." He added.
His last race was in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East at the 'Monster Mile'; Dover International Speedway (DE) in Dover, Delaware as the Drive Sober 150 was on September 26th. In two previous K&N East starts he finished 23rd at Columbus Motor Speedway (OH) and 24th at Iowa Speedway (IA). He responded in his third start by qualifying and finishing an impressive seventh at the one mile high-banked paved oval.
Haley also made six starts for Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA Racing Series and scored one top five finish, an impressive third at Elko Speedway (MN) on June 21st in the Akona 250 Presented by Federated Car Care. He also grabbed four top 10s and one Menards Pole Award, which also came at Elko. Back on May 18th at Toledo Speedway (OH), Haley became the youngest driver in ARCA Racing Series history to start a race and at Elko became the youngest ever Pole Award Winner. In both cases and in rewriting both records, he erased Kyle Benjamin's name from the lists.
Amongst the season accomplishments for Haley in addition to his ARCA exploits include his first ever win in a Late Model when he scored the victory in the 2014 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Season Opener at Springport Motor Speedway (MI) on May 4th. Despite missing several races in JEGS/CRA, Haley is still 12th in the point's standings as in addition to his win, he also has five top five finishes and seven top 10 showings. Finally in four ARCA/CRA Super Series starts, he has one top 10, which was a ninth place effort at Flat Rock Speedway (MI) back on August 16th.
The rest of the 2014 season calls for Haley to, tentatively make one more start in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series only this time with the West division at Phoenix International Raceway (AZ) on November 6th. Remaining plans also call for Haley to race in the Snowflake 100, which is part of the 47th annual Snowball Derby Weekend at Five Flags Speedway (FL) on December 6th.
For the remainder of the 2014 racing season, Haley's black #99 J.J. Haley Racing Chevrolets as well as the rest of the fleet of J.J. Haley Racing entries with Crew Chief, Bobby Blount calling the shots on top of the pit box all season long, will sport sponsorship decals and support from Braun Ability as well as Braun Auto Group, Two Guys Mechanical, JMR Trucking, T.J. Racing Lubricants and M.P.H. Promotions.
