Coopersville, Michigan (October 7, 2014) – Three-Time ARCA/CRA Super Series
Powered by JEGS Champion, Johnny VanDoorn and his brother, Butch VanDoorn
have been beyond busy since the creation of VanDoorn Racing Development. From
mentoring JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour sophomore, Hunter Baize to building brand new
racecars from the VDRD shops to the rising success of Team Butch Racing Shocks
which come out of the VDRD race shop. But there's one race on the calendar where
the Coopersville, Michigan standout always has circled over and over.

The 43rd running of the Winchester 400 is this Friday-Sunday, October 10-12th at
the legendary 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Winchester Speedway (IN)
located west of the Indiana / Ohio state line and east of Muncie in Winchester,
Indiana. The 400 is the one race that the 26-year-old has coveted since he started
racing in the premier Super Late Model tour in the country. Although VanDoorn has
climbed behind the wheel as much since winning his third ARCA/CRA crown in 2012,
he still makes sure he's set and ready to go when the 400 rolls around.

For this year's version, VanDoorn will team up once again with T.K. Racing with hopes of finally bringing the coveted Winchester rifle back to the Great Lakes State.  "I've been waiting for this weekend all year long. This is the one race that I really want to win. It would without a doubt me the highlight of my racing career," VanDoorn stated as he prepares for 400 laps around the famed 1/2 mile in Eastern Indiana. "There's some good competition that's going to be there, as there is every year. I'm excited and I can't wait to get into the hauler and start making the trip down." He added.

VanDoorn actually does have more on the line then just a Winchester 400 win. He and Daniel Hemric are the only two drivers eligible for the $10,000 bonus that is part of the JEGS Triple Crown Series. After Hemric won the Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway (IN) back on June 14th, VanDoorn responded with a victory at his home track of Berlin Raceway (MI) on July 19th in the Battle at Berlin 251. VanDoorn is the defending JEGS Triple Crown Series Champion winning two of the three races in the series a year ago. As much as the $10,000 bonus for a season year in a row would be nice, it's all about the rifle for the West Michigan standout.

"This is a big moment in our careers for Butch and I. To be able to bring our own car out to the track and finally see all of the hard work we've put into this program start to pay off. It was special to win in our own stuff at Berlin, but this one would really be 'the one'." VanDoorn continued. "We were so close last year to winning the big bonus. This time that's we're going in with the mindset of just winning the 400 and nothing else matters, not even the money. We're as ready as we're going to be, we're in our own stuff we've built from the ground up. We have no excuses now." He ended.

VanDoorn is one of the all-time leaders in most statistical categories in ARCA/CRA. He has 18 career wins, tied for third all-time with Canadian legend, Junior Hanley. He is three starts away from 100 career events with 97, 12th all-time as he has racked up an impressive 46 top five finishes, sixth all-time, as well as 71 top 10s, seventh all-time. He also has 14 Fast Qualifier Awards, third on the all-time list, just one out of second and four away from the all-time lead in that category. In addition, he is second all-time in career laps led with a whopping 2,522 behind only fellow three-time series champion, Scott Hantz. Finally he's ninth all-time in career laps ran with an astounding 13,989 laps turned.

For the Winchester 400, VanDoorn's #71 VanDoorn Racing Development / T.K. Racing / Ford Fusion will have power under the hood from McGunegill Engine Performance. He'll have sponsorship decals and support from LisaThomasSalon.com as well as Appleton Rack & Pinion, Magic Transportation, T.J. Racing Lubricants, B&K Wood Products and M.P.H Promotions.
