Top Speed Fabrication CRA Late Model Sportsman Visit the Famous High Banks of Winchester Speedway Sunday, August 18th

Salem, Indiana (August 15, 2013) – The Top Speed Fabrication CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS will head to the famous High Banks of historic Winchester Speedway this Sunday afternoon as part of the famed Old Timers Weekend. Sunday will be the first of three series events that will be contested at Winchester Speedway during the 2013 season.
To date Jason Atkinson tops the series with three wins, including a win at Baer Field Speedway in the series last event on July 27th. Atkinson has one win this season at Anderson Speedway and one in the 2013 season opener at Lucas Oil Raceway. Trey Craig has two wins, both at Anderson Speedway including a win last Saturday night, while 13 year old Chris Hacker was the winner of the July 19th PGG 75 at Anderson Speedway.
Mark Lambert comes in to Sunday afternoon’s event with a slim 10 point lead in Season Championship points over 2012 series Champion K.C. Spillers. Lambert now has two second place finishes and four third place finishes in the series six events so far this season. Spiller finished seventh in the series season opener, but now has four second place finishes and one third place finish in the last five series events. Atkinson is in third place in points, in a season that seems to be wins or DNF’s so far. Atkinson is 53 points out of first place. Chris Hacker is in fourth place in points and is the leading Rookie of the Year in points. Trey Craig is currently fifth in points.
Pit gates open on Sunday at 8am, practice will begin at 10am with qualifying at 12:30pm. The race program will begin at 2pm and will include 10 lap heat races and a 40 lap feature for the Top Speed Fabrication CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS. Also racing in Sundays program are the Must See Racing Winged Sprints and the Vores Compact Touring Series. The Old Timers Club-Vintage Cars will be on display and will be taking laps as part of the race program on Saturday and Sunday.
