Jerrod Foley Set For Return Trip To Owosso Speedway In Search Of First Career JEGS/CRA Victory
Near Win in 2012 Version of this event has Team looking for more this time around (Special from J.L.J. Motorsports)
September 5, 2013
Williamsburg, Kentucky (September 5, 2013) – Jerrod Foley and his family owned J.L.J.
Motorsports Team know they are a contender in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented
by Chevrolet Performance. Despite a 'donut' in the win column, the team has been in
contention in just about every race on the schedule over the past two seasons. Now the
team gets to return to the site of the closest run for a win and Foley is very happy about
that.

The 3rd annual Big 'O' Classic 100 Presented by JEGS.com is at the fast 3/8s (0.375)
mile high-banked paved oval of Owosso Speedway in Ovid, Michigan on Saturday,
September 7th. Last season in this event at the track located northeast of Lansing,
Michigan, Foley was fighting for the lead when contact with another car broke a steering
bolt and took the Williamsburg. Kentucky driver out of the event.

"Last year we had an amazingly fast car and was recorded as the fastest car on the track
on several occasions so we are super pumped to go back again this year to make another
run at a good solid finish with the car in one piece and hopefully add a win to the 2013
season." The 21-year-old remarked. "We've worked so hard this season and I know a win
is coming. This race is the one we've been looking forward to all season long." He added.

In his last event, at the legendary 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana as the Winchester 100 Presented by JEGS.com highlighted the Sunday, September 1st portion of the prestigious World Stock Car Festival that traditionally highlights the Labor Day Holiday Weekend of racing at the famed Eastern Indiana high-banks.

"Coming to Winchester this year, I as a driver was really excited, the high speeds and high banks of the track is one of a kind and I honestly can't get enough of it." Foley continued. "Last year we ran twice, one seventh place showing and one DNF due to a racing accident. But coming back this year we knew I had more experience and Dad (Car Owner, Jim Foley) would put me in a fast car." He continued.

After running in the top six in each Practice Session, The Blue Grass State driver would Qualify eighth quick and start the 100-Lap main from the outside of the fourth row. "When the race started we knew we had an awesome car and we were able to pass several cars on the inside or outside, the car was awesome anywhere on the track." He continued. Foley has worked his way up a high as fourth when he decided to start saving tires and he fell back to sixth waiting for a restart to make a solid run at the leaders.

On lap 84 the leaders started lapping several cars when one veered up into Foley's path. "It was the next lap when coming out of turn two another car either broke or got loose and over corrected, putting himself in the wall directly in front of us, I was able to keep from running over the lap car, but a piece of paper wouldn't have fit between my car and his as he bounced off the wall and caught my right rear putting me in a spin down the back stretch." Foley continued.

The results of the incident included breaking suspension parts in the rear end of the car as well as a bent the left front wheel. "We didn't notice the left front until after we fixed the car and went back out on the track a had a horrible vibration," He added. Foley was still able to pick up a few spots just from finishing the race and finished in the 11th position.

Going into the Owosso event, Foley is tied for fifth in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour points standings 55 points out of fourth place. In 10 total JEGS/CRA points races so far in 2013 including the non-points race at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia back on January 27th which was part of SpeedFest 2013, Foley has collected three top 10 finishes with a season high of sixth coming at Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio back on May 25th in the CoughlinCars.com 100 Presented by JEGS.com. He also has at least a top 15 showing in seven of the 10 total races.

For the rest of the 2013 racing season, Foley’s Black and Red JEGS/CRA car, a Chevrolet Impala and the new Yellow ARCA/CRA #04 J.L.J.
