Second Chance With Scott Neal Racing For Jimmy Novak This Weekend At Lucas Oil Raceway
SNR Fifth in JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Owners Points going into the weekend (Special from Novak Motorsports)
September 20, 2013
Dryden, Michigan (September 20, 2013) – Jimmy Novak has had a roller coaster 2013
racing season in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance. He's
shown more than once that he is a solid contender in the series with his performance at
Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio over the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend
when he charged from 23rd to finish eighth and again in the next race when he led 31 laps
at his home track of  Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan.

The rest of the year however has been tough for the 20-year-old as a couple of hard
crashes has taken him out of races. Despite the bad luck, 2012 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour
Championship Winning Car Owner and Crew Chief, Scott Neal saw something in the
Dryden, Michigan driver and wanted to give Novak a chance. So he put him in his #77
entry for the last race at Springport Motor Speedway in Springport, Michigan on
September 14th. Despite more bad luck, Novak did manage an 11th place finish after
starting 24th and coming back from the rear of the field three different times.

Novak's perseverance in that race, as well as the entire 2013 racing season has earned
him another chance in the SNR entry this Saturday-Sunday, September 21-22nd with a
trip to the 0.686 mile progressively banked paved oval of Lucas Oil Raceway, located west
of Indianapolis in Clermont, Indiana for the P.A.D.D. (People Against Driving Distracted) 100 Presented by Chevrolet Performance & T.J. Racing Lubricants.

"I feel very confident that we can run up front at Lucas Oil Raceway. We had a rough weekend with losing a motor in practice at Springport and then having to change motors Friday night before the race on Saturday." Novak stated. "We had a fast car, but had carburetor problems in qualifying forcing us to start towards the rear of the field. Luckily we had a car that was very good even in traffic." He added.

Two separate accidents forced Novak to the back of the field after pit stops to repair the damage. Then after making it up to as high as eighth place, a right front tire went down forcing him to pit yet again with 13 laps to go. After all of that, Novak charged back towards the front yet again and finished 11th. "We just ran out of laps." He continued. "I'm thinking I passed more cars than anyone there though." He laughed.

For his efforts, Novak earned the Five Star Racecar Bodies Hard-Charger Award for the second time this season. "I want to thank Scott (Neal) and everyone at Scott Neal Racing for staying up till 4:00am., changing motors so we could even race last Saturday. Also a big thanks to Chad Finley and his team for letting us use there shop." He ended.

While his familiar black #53 Ferris Commercial Mowers /  Ford with addition support from the family business Novak’s Supply and Equipment in addition to Saginaw Welding Supply and M.P.H. Promotions will sit idle, Novak will pilot the #77 Scott Neal Racing entry with sponsorship support from McGunegill Engine Performance as well as Schoenfeld Headers, Ultra Cool Brake Fans, Motion Motors, PGG Enterprises and QS Components.

The #77 entry is fifth in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Owners Points with six different drivers behind the wheel. In addition to Novak, Landon Cling started the season in the car. After Cling and SNR parted ways, 2012 Snowball Derby Winner Erik Jones, NASCAR stars, Kenny Wallace and Johanna Long and even Scot Neal himself have driven the car in an effort to keep the entry in the top five in the Owners Points.

Despite now missing three points races in JEGS/CRA action, Novak is 14th in the Drivers Points Standings as he has two top 10 finishes with a season high of an eighth after winning the Last Chance Race at Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio back on May 25th in the CoughlinCars.com 100 Presented by JEGS.com and earning the Hard-Charger Award in the process.
