Double-Duty Plans A Go For Jerrod Foley At Lucas Oil Raceway In CRA Fall Brawl 2013
Second Time this season Kentucky Driver will race both events in the Circle City (Special from J.L.J. Motorsports)
September 18, 2013
Williamsburg, Kentucky (September 18, 2013) – The last time Jerrod Foley ran double-
duty at the 0.686 mile progressively banked paved oval of Lucas Oil Raceway in Clermont,
Indiana, he left the speed plant located west of Indianapolis with finishes he was
disappointed in to say the least; 24th in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS
race and 22nd in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance
portion of the Night of the Stars Twin 100s back in July.

"Our showing last time there wasn't as we expected, we have fixed many problems since
then with both cars." The Williamsburg, Kentucky driver remarked. "We look forward to
seeing how both the Super and Pro car handle. Driving both races is an awesome
experience, especially at LOR. As if one race a weekend isn't enough, we would rather do
two." He laughed.

Foley is coming off a season high finish of a fifth in the Springport Fall Brawl 100
Presented by JEGS.com on September 14th at the 3/8s (0.375) mile high-banked paved
oval  of Springport Motor Speedway, located south of Lansing and north of Jackson in
Springport, Michigan. After a season of hard luck, the family owned and operated J.L.J.
Motorsports Team is going into the Circle City on a high note.

"We went into Springport rather excited after having such a good car in practice back in April. We unloaded Friday for the optional practice and we were really good for the first five laps then the left rear axle broke putting the car in a spin." Foley explained. "Luckily I was able to keep her out of the wall, but on the unlucky side we had to make a -three-hour drive to pick up a new axle and returned with less than 20 minutes of practice." He added.

"On race day, we were lucky enough to have a set of Mach qualifying tires to see that our set up wasn't off and that our previous tires were bad. We were very happy with how the car was handling so decided not to make any more adjustments and just roll with it." He continued. Out of the 27-car field on hand, Foley would qualify 10th quick and would start the 100-lap main from the outside of the fifth row.

"When the race came, the car was awesome, inside, outside, three-wide, it didn't matter, but since the track was so cool we were better on the long run rather than on restarts." The 21-year-old continued. " We actually had to go three-wide on several occasions, and not just to pass but to keep out of a possible wreck. As the race went on the tires faded slowly from going from so hot to so cold on restarts and some laps felt like we was on ice."

"But we was able to hang on to the car and pull off a solid top five finish with our best finish yet due to all kinds of bad luck," He stated. "Hopefully we have kicked the bad luck out the door and can continue to finish the season with top fives, clean finishes and just maybe finally pull off that Win we've been striving for."

By starting the race at Springport, Foley now sits tied atop of the all-time lead for most consecutive starts in JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour history with 27 and he will break that record and sit alone on top of that list when he takes the green flag at Lucas Oil Raceway.

Going into LOR, Foley is sixth in points, just six points out of the coveted top five. In 11 total JEGS/CRA points races in 2013 including the non-points race at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia back on January 27th which was part of SpeedFest 2013, Foley now has one top five finish as well as four top 10 showings.

For the rest of the 2013 racing season, Foley’s Black and Red JEGS/CRA car, a Chevrolet Impala and the new Yellow ARCA/CRA #04 J.L.J. Motorsports / Port City Racecars entry, a Ford Fusion will both carry sponsorship decals from Quality Care Auto as well as Manton Financial Services, Imprint Warehouse Screen Printing, DAL Fishing Jigs, Advance Auto Parts, Baker Performance Parts, Ace in the Hole Motorsports and M.P.H.
